I think the recent Boxing Day test is a good reference point. Even though they are always dead rubbers, Ashes tests always pull the highest attendances.

2013 : 91,112

2017: 88,173

2021: 57,100

Crowds were WAY done last year despite full capacity being allowed. They were also way down in general in the early rounds of the 2021 AFL season, even factoring it that we only got to 75% capacity.

Sadly, I think it will be 45,000 or less March 16.

Given this is a thread about numbers, I thought I’d throw in that todays date is a palindrome (22/02/2022). But I digress.

I think the crowd size will be somewhat dependent on ticket prices. I thought last years Anzac Eve would be around 75K but it was only mid 50’s. I know people who didn’t go because it was just too expensive.

That said, my guess is 70K, including three generations of dees tragics in my family (and a black sheep doggies supporter)

Need to factor in that cricket itself is a bit on the nose. For all the faults we might find with AFL HQ, Cricket Australia has them covered for incompetence in every aspect.

The second of March, I think.

Just received MCC notification on sale Tuesday so would expect other categories around the same time.

Carlton-Richmond gets 80k even when they are crap. I know it’s a weds and Covid is still on the mind but some of you are severely underestimating.

I hope so

Any Melbourne supporter who could go but decides not to because it is too hard will regret it. I'll be there come hell or high water.
