I don't think we'd drop Casey but if we did, any chance of Port Melbourne being the famous inner city (or as close to as we're going to get) training venue? You'd have to get rid of the cricket club, but otherwise good location, pretty much straight on the 109 tram from the MCG.

I would prefer an alignment with Port Melbourne, I started following them in my mid teens when a lot of us from Braybrook struck up good friendships with a host of kids from Port. I still follow them now as a close second to the MFC aligned teams.

I love how people struggle with basic comprehension so make up whatever insane theory they want.
Nobody, and I mean nobody has ever once come out and said we will be in forced lockdown for another 12 months. We will have to operate under certain Covid safe guidelines such as social distancing, probably mask wearing and businesses will have to follow a Covid safe set of instructions to protect staff and customers for the next 12 months, or until a vaccine is widely administered. That is NOT the same as being in lockdown.

Even more ironic is how people decide these guidelines aren't for them so they go around ignoring them, which ends up in everyone in full lockdown.

I hope your parents and their friends are going to be safe and not catch this terrible virus.

I to have family members and friends in their 60s to 80s and i hope they are also going to be ok?

I can't imagine the stress you are dealing with at this time, with your parents and owning a business during all this covid 19 stuff?

I just feel the Andrews government has made such a mess in regards to covid 19, and let us all down,

I just hope there is going to be an end to this virus soon?

With your business, not sure if at all this is possible, for both yourself and other Demonland's who own a business, but maybe we could help you guys out with some sales?

I appreciate it mate, but the idea was jumped on by the misinformation crowd and my business will be fine.

?

We’ve committed to Casey and I don’t mind that, it’s better that we have an alignment that is secure and both parties working together than one where the other wants larger autonomy (which I believe was one of the major issues with the Sandy alignment).

It does make sense from a geographical sense to have Port Melb as our club but I think that ship has now sailed and the Melbourne/Casey connection is strong (and I feel getting stronger). We were one of the few AFL clubs to actually commit early to our VFL affiliate being a part of our post-COVID future.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
