I give Lyon credit where it is due.

Even in our 2018 year, which will undoubtedly nourish most MFC supporters for the next 5 years, Lyon did consistently say that we couldn't handle expectation.  For instance, we lost a few as favourites in 2017/18 for memory, and Lyon predicted it.

This year, thank goodness, he is the only media personality to come out and say that maybe 2018 was an aberration.  

 

Can't think of any media expert that has predicted Melbourne, let alone be brutally honest about what we are.  The alarm bells were ringing round 1, but all the experts thought we'd come good.

Imagine a commentator bagging Melbourne. Lyon is doing his job. It's not his job to shill for the Dees. If we somehow ever challenge for a flag he will absolutely laud our efforts.
