This is what that saying,  represents.

Point taken, this can be true, but I was thinking more of dogs as loyal, loving pets. Humans do a lot of damage as well. Plus dogs need to be trained and restrained. They are pack animals and there is always a leader. The human owner needs to be the strong leader and be the boss of the dog, but with discipline and kindness, not cruelty. They are need a lot of commitment to look after and personally I have never owned a dog because of the work load this entails. People don't realize they are a big responsibility and shouldn't take them on if they haven't got the time to look after them and train them.

One of the reasons I objected to the saying was I have seen humans do some terrible things to animals, watching animal rescue channels. Even after being abused, these dogs and cats look for love and affection from humans even after being tortured by them.

Stratton received 2 one week suspensions to be served sequentially so is out for two weeks.

Strong and damning words from  AFL QC Jeff Gleeson:  Stratton’s pinching was “deliberate, calculated, considered and sly”...[and] he intended to hurt.

Appropriate result.

So let me get this straight, if i punch someone in the 1st quarter then again in the 2nd and again in the 3rd and then stomp on a player and then continue to punch someone I get a total of 2 weeks.

I say ten pinches 10 weeks, 1 stomp 4 weeks. 14 weeks in total.

The stomp I agree is a serious offence. You can easily break delicate foot bones and sideline a bloke for weeks doing that. 3 for the stomp, 1 for pinching. 4 weeks sounds right.

One offence committed multiple times. If I get caught on a speed camera 10 times in a day do I get one fine for speeding or ten? MB  3 for the stomp sounds fair and 1 week for each pinch not to be served concurrently. AFL making it up as they go!

At least you didn't call them parasites like that actual parasite Waleed Aly did last night on TV.

What a hateful scumbag he is.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
