The tandem effect of Melk and Hannan is vital; these two look for opportunities and space, and Hannan usually lands on two feet ready to go and/or tap on to advantage. Other forwards need to realise this advantage.

I agree,  'Ds56'.

Both Hannan and Melk are excellent on their feet...  both excellent going for goal, as is Weide.   Add the nippy smalls to these boys,  and Weide, TMc and Preuss,  or other strong overhead marking tall,  and our forwardline is potent.

hardly any contested forward marks were taken in the Hawthorn v Saints match.

It is definitely an area that has suffered for many clubs this year. Richmond with Lynch and Cox at the magpies are among the exceptions as was Cameron of GWS on the weekend.

We are missing Tom Mac's marking power immensely.

Our forwards have been dropping marks all the time. Tmac and the weed are our 2 best forwards for marking and they have been off this all season.

Another thing I believe we lack,  which I think goes hand in hand with the marking issue you've raised... is Body on Body. In my time,  we've never been good at this either... And I believe both aspects are of the physical strength/aggression side of the game.    Something we have never dominated in.

Except for the lead up and during last years finals right?

I was talking in traditional Melbournefc team terms.

Last year,  we were more aggressive, Yes...    but which of our players excelled in the body on body skills. ?   maybe Jetta.

Who else uses their body well to out leverage the opponent ?

I believe sMay is good at this.
