darkhorse72 1,943 Posted March 25, 2019 Posted March 25, 2019 An article on the advantages the eagles have being in the dominant team in a 2 team town. Also the boost of winning the premiership. https://thewest.com.au/business/west-coast-eagles-overtake-collingwood-as-afls-biggest-revenue-generator-ng-b881146517z Way ahead of the other "big" clubs. 1 Quote
Diamond_Jim 12,773 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 yes... we are an also ran. Watch out for Geelong.. as I mentioned in the thread re the Geelong stadium deal they are making serious money. Adelaide does very well also. Quote
Wadda We Sing 10,685 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 I know its better to have it than not to have it if your trying to run a business, but with the salary cap and the soft salary cap does it really matter that much? Western Bulldogs won a flag with not much in the bank. If we can consistently play finals, the money will come..... Quote

Example... training facilities are not within the soft cap although some of the staffing of the training facility is. WB got massive hand outs from the Federal and State governments to develop/upgrade Whitten Oval. Quote

I think we will see some big changes over the next 2 years.... 2 Quote
What 18,810 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 Thank god for the salary cap. Imagine being like soccer where the glamour teams can just buy all the best players. 1 1 Quote
