You can't play viney and Tyson in same side, with viney out Tyson fits in the side perfectly, Mitch just does not get the ball, with Jeff and spargo in the side Mitch unbalances the side, Tyson has to play in the guts, he has been played on the outside he is no good on the outside. He will play well this game, need his experience  in the guts with viney out.

Would rather have a fit an in form Kent vs Hannan / Tyson.

Problem is he is rarely either ?

Tyson invites pressure on the inside as he doesn't have the bullocking break away ability of a Viney.  Viney is a few rungs above Tyson in this regard.  I would even argue that Tracc & Harmes are starting to show better traits in this area also.

I would rather stick with Clarry, Brayshaw, Tracc & Harmes and go with an outside winger / HF.

Kent is the best option for this role when in form vs Hannan / Tyson.  Is also more accurate at goal and on average kicks more goals per match than either of those two (when he gets on the park, which is rare).

Having said that I dont think any of these 3 are long term keepers (Kent a slim possibility of eveything goes right from here).

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
