The 1st time TMac went forward last year i thought he was a natural.

Same here. From the start he's led really smartly, used a simple and devastatingly effective goal-kicking action and looked confident with the ball when he's in the forward half of the ground.

Makes you wonder how good Tom would be if he’d been a forward right from the start. (In a good team that is, never went down there in his early years with us.)

It’s a beautiful mix at the moment. The only way to stop it is to smash us in the middle all day. Where Tom and Jesse can go and have a say in that, too.

He probably learned a bit from playing some footy down back and, like you say, until recently we weren't much good at hitting up targets or getting it inside 50.

Yeah, and with a midfield of Gawn plus Oliver, Brayshaw, Viney, Jones, etc. I'm feeling alright about our midfield.

Just need the backline to hold together (and I was saying this even before Lever went down).

Bearing in mind neither of them crack a smile too often, what about the Twin-dour-Towers?

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG after a dismal performance in Gather Round to face the reigning dual Premiers Brisbane. What do expect to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
