Daisy Pearce - captain

Featured Replies

I don't think it comes as a surprise to anyone given her leadership role in the exhibition series from 2013-16 but congratulations anyway to Daisy Pearce on her appointment as inaugural captain of the MFC women's team.

Also to vice-captains Mel Hickey and Elise O’Dea who, along with Daisy, make up Melbourne’s leadership group.

Great article.  Daisy is to become a regular columnist for The Age.  This gives added insight into her route to professional AFL.

Agree,

I love the fact that the back page of the Age is red and bue with a photo of daisy. Great for our club and the decision years ago to invest in and support women's football will play big dividends for us in terms of exposure and growth in the number of supporters.

To be honest i hadn't given the AFLW a great deal of thought but i'm now genuinely looking forward to it and its great i have to team to barrack for

I handed over my boy's side to another coach this year and the club was looking for a coach for U13 Youth Girls, so I took the gig.

There was a real buzz from the girls for the AFLW... I'm working to convert any that are unaligned to the Dees!
