Eduardo beats nature strip!
I ended up on him once it went to a soft 7. Thought Rothfore would find it a bit too hard on a S7 ( dumped a bonus bet on it tho)

Masked Crusader jumped slow and never got going

Double Salute!!!

Well done Macca.

Well done you, Gorg!!

You little beauty!!

The ADATR crew lands a double (finally!)

At 25-1, that is a decent collect for a coffee or 4 as an outlay

Happy days!!

And Nonconformist now gets into the Caulfield Cup ... these entry races add so much more interest (as in the 'Shorts' raced earlier becomes a great trial for the Everest)

Came home nicely, can’t wait to see it in the cup.

Prizemoney is very good all the way down to 8th in the Caulfield Cup so the connections would be thrilled.

These days, only the real class horses generally win the Caulfield Cup but the race has opened up for the locals with not nearly as many overseas entrants.  Certainly, Nonconformist is in with a show!

Eduardo continues to impress and is a specialist at the 1100 (or 1000m)

Now an 8yo but it isn't slowing down!  Hunted down Nature Strip like only a good horse can

Sierra Sue wins!! The unlucky Feehan Stakes run was the pointer

Not sure what happened to Probabeel & Behemoth.  Beau had every chance

3 lightweights filled the placings

I had Sierra in my f4, but Behemoth and Beau got no where near it. I didn’t have probabeel.

Got pipped in the last, tossed up between Bella and La Mex, went La mex and then both in the quinella and La Mex got pipped.

Hard luck

Had my best day In quite a while ... mind you, I was due!  Gators 2/3 parlay helped and I was on Sierra Sue and got the exacta up in the same race

Yeah don’t get me wrong I ended up way ahead. I knew Sierra Sue was going to be there abouts especially with the weight. But Beau Rossa is my horse so had to back it.

Got close with Just Folk. That would have made today amazing. But I’m very happy a d glad you had a nice collect too.

Lets see if we can back it up next sat.

Yep, time to get on a roll Gorg

I do like the 2/3 parlay bet ... it's a lot of fun when all 3 salute!  4 decent collects speaks for itself

Gator is on RSN tomorrow around 11.00 - 11.30 and there are sure to be people messaging in about his 2/3 parlay saluting

The 3 winners were Annavisto,  Nonconformist & Bella Nipotina.  All highly fancied to boot

3 big Group 1's (kicking off Friday night) with the highly competitive Moir Stakes

Anamoe & Zaaki look morals in the Golden Rose & Underwood Stakes but upsets can happen ... and $2.50 for the double doesn't appeal (unless used as a banker in a multi)

Yeah the two favs don’t interest me unless I have two others and add one to try and bump the odds up slightly. Zaaki wins. Can’t see it not.

I like Artorius at $9.

Ive backed Portland Sky a lot along the journey and will look it’s way again I think.

Close to 20-1 for the double

Good racing tonight ... the Valley races are always interesting to watch

Tend to follow on pace runners as that's often where there is a bit of bias

Yeah I can be very hit and miss there. I tend to also trust certain jockeys more at MV than others.

Jamie Kah is good with on pace runners where as Ollie & Craig are often successful with swoopers

But I go against swoopers at the Valley ... if they beat me, so be it.  On pacers often get into the finish and the track is not often a swoopers track with that short straight

Homesman will lead (or be on the pace) tonight for instance, and if the jockey can dictate terms, he'll be hard to beat.  I'm confident about its chances

You got another one to go with Homesman? Doesn't have to be at the Valley

Lombardo in the second is a leader that should get the job done. Paying $2.60

Lombardo should win

Ok, that's the other double that could easily salute (with Homesman R6)

First race is at 5.15 and just as well ... I desperately need a distraction to take my mind off the footy! haha

Rabbitohs/Manly later on and then a busy day at work tomorrow should fill the rest of the time.  And sleep (hopefully!)

Friday nights is beers and vinyl with the wife. Fire will be roaring and I’ll watch the races on the ipad and slip the head phones on to listen.

Tomorrow big bushwalk then chores then onto the races. Possibly lying on the ground rocking back and forth once races are done 😂

Moonee Valley track manager Martin Synan reckons the course might favour the on pace runners  ... but because of the wind as they hit the straight, the backmarkers can feature if they can get cover

Rail is out 4 metres

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
