Best bet.

Race 6 Morphetville no 2 Beau Rossa $3.90

back to 1300 which suits better than the 1600 I reckon

Best Bet (Saturday)

Hawkesbury R5 #5 Athiri (Win) $3.10

Looks a backable double in my view - $12 dividend (with a boost)

The Sydney carnival is done & dusted but the Group racing continues on in S.A. & QLD as well as the big Group 1's from overseas.  The Kentucky Derby will be run this weekend along with the 2000 Guineas from Newmarket

My preference are '2-race' doubles in the overseas Group 1's unless my fancied runner is at each-way odds

The links to the overseas racing will take you to the Racing Post site where the regular tipster there is quite good - full odds & tips appear the day before the race (i.e. Friday's if the racing is on the Saturday)

Nice one Gorg

I got a handy collect on the win ... didn't see the race but sounded like an impressive win

Definitely a horse to follow

An ADATR Blackbooker!

Yeah a very nice run, sat well in the pack then moved out and turned it on and when challenged went again. 1200-1300 is his sweet spot. Anything over and I wouldn’t be as confident.

Barry the Baptist scratched. So next choice is

Gosford Race 7, no 9 Polly Grey $3.30

Blaze sat right back then when it tried to move through it couldn’t get the gap until late, when it got going it hit held up then had to go again. Streetcar sat just off the leaders where it’s usually known as a back marker.

Kah is getting better and better

And 'Zaaki' looks like another more than decent import too ... won the Hollindale in fine style beating a crack field

Doomben Cup next up you'd imagine Gorg.  Definitely one to follow after Saturday's performance

And Explosive Jack won well (SA Derby) despite being 3 wide without cover for a lot of the race.  A real good horse but because it's a colt, we may not see the horse for too much longer.  Worth a mint at stud already

Been getting a few winners overseas of late ... that Racing Post tipster knows his stuff!  3 winners last night thank you very much!

I was on Let’s Kraka deel and it ran very well but EJ was just next level.

Started the Day well with Ruby Skye and a few small wins along the way. Glad to hear you did well in the OS races.

I’m looking forward to the Goodwood this Sat. Beau Rossa up against better horses, it’s at $9 so I used a bonus bet early in case to comes in, tougher field so we will see what he is made of.

Group 1 replays from the last 2 weekends (including the overseas G1's)

I’m hoping the track firms from a soft 5 for Saturday’s goodwood. It’s such a good field.

Flemington Race 3,

no 2 Ididitforlove $6 win

Best Bet Flemington Saturday

R2 No.1 Star of Eden 6.00/2.00

Handy sort of double at around 30-1 or more (with a boost)

Promises to be a top day at both Morphettville & Doomben with value about, right throughout each program

Excellent program at Rosehill too along with the Andrew Ramsden feature @ Flemington (the winner gets automatically included in the Melbourne Cup)

Good luck punters!

Star of Eden was one I nearly put in as my best bet.

Well Gorg, if we win, we're going to win early!

I got 30-1 for the double but have backed both to win as well

Win early (like the Patriots have done ad nauseum) and then sit back and enjoy!

Got 31.17 with the boost. Would be a welcome start to the day for sure.

I'm betting in all 4 locations tomorrow but only small bets and nearly all are exactas

There's some real value about with the exotics and will only need a few good combo's to salute to do ok

The 2 sprint G1's will be keenly contested ... the 2 hot favourites could both win but strong fields often throw up the value winners

Dirty Work @ $15 in the Goodwood and Vega One @ $15 in the 10,000 could easily feature

The goodwood really interests me, I love Beau and I’ve been a fan of Behemoth but also instant celebrity is a great horse. Dirty work at 15 is great odds, if you nail a tri/f4 I reckon it pays well.
May the horses we back run first!

So many winners in the teens and beyond at Flem and Morphettville. Crazy day trying to get winners.

Yep, no luck here with exactas today Gorg

Might do better in the UK tonight

Savatoxl has been running very well but I didn't see it beating that field in the Goodwood.

Terrific ride by Vorster & the McEvoy's do it again

Eduardo just too good for them in the 10,000

Ive backed Lord Vladivostok a few times and looked at it this time but didn’t.
such is the punt.

Good luck tonight!

  • NON-MFC: Round 12

Round 12 kicks off with the Brisbane hosting Essendon at the Gabba as the Lions aim to solidify their top-two position against an injury-hit Bombers side seeking to maintain momentum after a win over Richmond. On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
