Tagaloa is back in business!  Nice positive ride by Luke Currie too

The punters didn't want it but it ran 01:21.63 for the 1400m.  That's slick!

Australian Guineas over the 1600m looks ideal for the colt now.  And hopefully it races on into the Spring

And is Nature Strip back in business?  After that win you'd reckon so

Jamie Kah does it again!

Quick time too ... 00:56.91 for the 1000m

The two 3yo's ran very well too (September Run & Swats That) Newmarket Hcp for those 2 (at the lightweights)

Bivouac never a factor - not his day but probably needs 1200m

September run I took, 20 more meters and it wins, but NS is a good horse that I just can’t trust, it’s fickle, but ran well today.

Nature Strip is a 1000m horse which can sometimes run well at 1200m (often gets caught out over racing?)

Kah will be riding the horse from here on in so she may have found the answer to the horse in terms of rating the horse ... it's what Jamie does so we may be seeing the new Nature Strip

Looked the winner a long way out but your choice (September Run) is the one to follow ... flew past Bivouac which is no mean feat

Colette wins the Apollo St. in fine fashion.  Very impressive

Verry Elleegant the eye-catcher late.  Needs further than 1400m

Got the 4 leg multi as I had ew on Zakat in the last as well. Jamie Kah had a great day in the saddle.

David Hayes is starting to train some winners up at Hong Kong again

2 winners so far today including a 25-1 shot in race 4.

And Zac hasn't been able to take advantage today in the absence of Moreira (out suspended?)

Replays from the weekend

Also like Prague in that race.

And I'm bound to like something else in the race that you pick.  If we're going to bet against each other there is no point in having a best bet

Probably better to leave it unsaid ?

True. I was more thinking a Quinella/exacta might be on the cards ?

You should have said that then as I saw it as you betting against me ?

So far I've had 6 different people stomp all over my best bet ... one 'individual' decided to make my pick his 'lay' of the day! (Twice)

Both my choices won by the way but no apology was forthcoming!

But gamblers are gamblers ... most go it alone but most lose.

Most are selfish too so the team ethic is totally foreign to them.  And they then lose ?

Yeah sorry, wasn’t trying to do that.

On a positive note, Canasta is running in Canberra tomorrow race 8, it’s fav but with the light weight it’s a bloody good chance.

Race 6 at Caulfield looks a cracker with Behemoth vs Probabeel!

Value bet Caulfield Race 1 #6 Hangman $7.50

Fair enough Gorg ... I probably overreacted anyway.  All good

The Futurity Stakes is a beauty as you indicated ... Ole Kirk & Arcadia Queen are big chances as well as Behemoth & Probabeel

It's a trifecta race for me as I'm a big fan of those 4 in particular plus 'Streets' & Crosshaven could get good runs and get into the finish.

I'll post up the preview later as the Oakleigh Plate & the Blue Diamond are of high interest as well (Ollie chose Anamoe over Ingratiating)

Also will note that Dosh is running and at $18. Up to 1200 and an open class, let’s see what it’s got. Won its 2, I’ve done well off it, let’s hope for a third win!

I reckon the horse is very good value @8.50 (Laddies) Gorg ... measures up to Defribulate (dead heat last start) according to a couple of the racing pundets and is 3 or 4 times the value.  Extra furlong might suit too!

DZ,  JV7,  Wadda and 1 or 2 others could come in later but the place multi is starting to measure up (although we don't want another scratching in the 'Hang Man' race (R1)

Yeah I was on Hangman last start.

I could choose another value or best if need be

Yeah no worries,  I've got one in mind too!

But we should wait for the others first Gorg ... late tomorrow we'll know who's in

Huge day at Caulfield coming up on Saturday with the Blue Diamond,  Futurity Stakes & the Oakleigh Plate.  Crack fields throughout the day.  3 Group races up at Rosehill to complement the day

The ADATR's crew have already earmarked Hang Man (R1 No.6 Caulfield) & North Pacific (R7 No.3 Rosehill) as potential winners so good luck punters!

  • Feel free to post up a best bet fellow 'landers - the more the merrier (unless we lose!)
  • The 3 main feature races are still available (n.b. only one best bet per race so as to keep things easier to manage)
  • Oh, and the thread is up to 200 pages which is no mean feat!

You may as well have another go as well Gorg (with the added value of the place multi coming together)

Here's mine

Caulfield R7 No.5 Anamoe 7.50/2.30

More so for the place multi but if they go too fast up front,  Anamoe can swoop and win)

Race 5, #7 Butter chicken $5 with ms Kah on it. Going up distance but last run showed it had more distance in it.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
