Just sounds like the sort of enigmatic (head and shoulders) bloke we shouldn't give away. Wonder what the new coach thinks....

Pretty modest stats for Mitch White as 2nd best for Casey. Tackles = 0, I50 = 0, R50 = 1

Just goes to show the stats sheet can be deceiving. He was outstanding on Saturday, one of the best games I've seen him play.

Continually took the risk to leave his man, effect a spoil or get his to the body contest to nullify a forward thrust. His reading of the ball in the air was an eye-opener

for me, I hadn't noticed him being as good at it as he was on the weekend. Like a Josh Gibson/Rance type game where he just roamed around punching/intercepting

everything in sight, but didnt end up with the stats to reflect his impact. (No, I'm not comparing him to those 2 in any other way yet!)

Did Terlich get off at the Tribunal?

He got a week, as I suspected, sadly....

Although there is an asterisk next to his penalty, and this footnote:

(#) One match additional penalty added to base sanction due to previous record

So not sure if he now misses the Grand Final, which would be a blow, as he's been having an impact.

If he is missing the PF and then possibly the GF, for what has been described by some who saw it, as only a late tackle, ( I haven't seen the incident ), then I think we  ( Casey ) would owe it to him to appeal.  He has had a great year and that would be a very heavy penalty to miss a PF and possibly a GF. Couldn't be worse at Appeal.

I just looked up the results and there was no mention of Terlich. Results were for September 6th, yesterday.

Interestingly a player got a reprimand for kicking another player to the body.

Where did you get your info?

I see that both semi finals will be played at North Port oval.  Is it the case then that the preliminary finals will both be played there too?  I assume our preliminary final will be played on the Saturday (having finished on top)?

The penalty was handed down by the Match Review Panel, not the Tribunal. I think the week he received is the extra above the base penalty because of his record.

KC, what's the rules as far as which Casey & Melbourne listed players can play in the D-League this weekend?

For example can McInerney, Scott, Munro play D-League?  Also Max King & Joel Smith seeing as they played in the D-League last week?

Joel Smith did not play in the development league semi final. Max King did and should be selected again this week.

I believe the following is relevant -

"20. Participation in Finals

...

(b) Subject to  Rule 20(c) below, a Player who has played in an AFL Home and Away Match after 1 July in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in VFL Senior Grade or Development League Finals Series Matches unless that Player has played in a combined total of at least six (6) Senior Grade or Development League Home and Away Matches in the same season.

(c) A Player who has not played in at least two (2) Development League Home and Away Matches in the relevant season will be ineligible to play in a Development League Finals Series Match unless, immediately prior to selection:

(i) the Player has missed at least ten (10) consecutive VFL Home and Away Matches through injury; and

(ii) the Player’s Club remains active in the VFL Senior Grade Finals Series.

(d) A Player who has played in more than eight (8) VFL Senior Grade Home and Away Matches will be ineligible to play in Development League Final Series Matches unless that Player has played in at least six (6) Development League Home and Away Matches."

Oscar McInerney and Aloysio Ferreira who both did well against Footscray would be available for the DL this week but I don't believe any of the other Casey senior regulars will play.

I saw the hit at the ground, think it deserved a week, he got him flush, and it was a needless hit as he'd already disposed of the ball, albeit these things are always a split second kinda thing.

Thanks Dave. I think it is a 1 match penalty, as he would have got a reprimand, but form meant it was a match.

If we win the PF he should be ok for the GF.

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
