Demons team of the past 20 years.

So as I am sure a few of you guys and girls are just like me and have a super coach team.. "This is my year...Perhaps next year" is currently the status of my team.
I saw a supercoach Melbourne Demons best team for the last 15-20 years.
Saw some names in there which brought back great memories of posters on my wall as a kid and would like to know your thoughts on the team!

B: N. Brown, C. Bizzell. P. Wheatley
HB: D. Cross, M. Whelan, D. Ward
C: T. Johnstone, A. Yze, J. McDonald
HF: C. Bruce, B. Green, R. Robertson
F: A Davey, C. Sylvia J, Hogan
RUC: J. White, M. Gawn
Foll: B Moloney, N. Jones,
I/C: B. McLean, D Tyson, B. Vince

1 Noteable omission for myself is Nietz out for Sylvia...Kinda isulted to be honest.

But pretty accurate otherwise, good to see 5 current players in there (Viney should be there too)

Who do you guys think will be replaced in this list in the next couple years with currently listed players?
I would love to see T. Mac, J. Hunt, there in the coming years.

Don't think Super Coach/Dream team points are the best guide to go by when selecting a Melbourne team 1997 - 2016.

Think a more accurate 22 would be;

FB: T. McDonald, Frawley, Whelan

HB: Vince, Ingerson, Brown

C: Tingay, N. Jones, Johnstone

HF: Yze, Hogan, J. McDonald

FF: Robertson, Neitz, Farmer

FOLL: White, T. Viney, J. Viney

INT: Bruce, Davey, Green, Stynes

Apologies to the likes of Woewodin, Lyon, Schwarz & Steven Febey. The ox misses out only because that brilliant 94' season is outside 20 years. And i expected the likes of Gawn, Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw etc to push into that 22 when the question is asked of Melbourne's best 22 of the last 25 years from 1997 - 2021 in 5 years time.

Bit pointless really. Mainly because there is no meaningful comparison between the 1997-2006 team and the 2007-2016 team. Like chalk and cheese.

The supercoach team was for players with a high average score per round. Neitz obviously didn't score highly.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
