Vivid memories from last year:

1.  Clarkson put the Dawes stupid 'they are gettable' comment up at the club to motivate players.  It worked brilliantly for them.  So Dawes: don't poke the bear!!

2. They ground us into the dust - they were determined to win by over 100pts and kept going in the last until they did.

Hawks need a percentage boost.  They see us as their bunnies and will hunt us down.  This Saturday will not be pretty.

This will be a loss this weekend, especially without Viney in the centre. Hopefully it's not a blow out. We need Clarry back to give us grunt and defensive pressure at the stoppages. He is already very important to us!

Amazingly looking at the teams that just played last weekend, the Hawks have only 4 players different to when we last played them. We on the other-hand have 14 who weren't in the team last week who played round 7 last year.

I think one way to look at it would be that the Hawks are very good at keeping their main team together - the saying of one soldier out, one in. Could be why we might be reluctant to make too many changes each week to try and get a similar group together.

The game Jack Watts "dropped" himself. Was a good move in hindsight as it was a horrible game to watch and would've been worse to be a part of.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
