Ps Patton and plowman for first and second round pick

Get an Apple TV that you can stream your phone through over wi fi. It will cost you $100 but I love mine

I thought they stopped the afl app working on Apple TV?

Have you tried the AFL app through your appleTV?

I was going to purchase an appleTV recently but have been told by multiple people that the AFL app has been designed so the coding won't let you watch the game feed through your tv.

I don't think you're able to stream video from an iPhone, only an iPad.

The quality is OK, slightly lower than Standard Definition TV.

You've been told wrong, I use mine over Apple TV every week!

Have you got the current updated version of the app?

How old is your appleTV?

yep I use it regularly with no problems

I use my Apple TV too. Latest version of the app but older version of the Apple TV box so not sure if that impacts anything. Also, I stream from my iPad...

I've been told the older appleTV will work, but a newer appleTV won't.

Not sure if that's actually true or not.

Told by the bloke working at JB Hifi, so if he's wrong, he talked himself out of selling an appleTV, so I can't see a reason for him to lie.

Pretty sure you just stream it on your iPad or iPhone and then use the "AirPlay" feature to mirror the screen to your AppleTV.

I've tried it on a friend's and the screen is black.

I'll tell you how to do it. Get an HTC one or a Samsung tab. Plug and play baby. Works like a dream, I plug them into tvs everywhere I go when people don't have foxtel and watch games unmerered on the big screen.

They think of everything don't they!

Apparently if you set up a VPN you can then watch it on your computer at least.

I'll admit that I haven't tried it with the most recent update this week; however the thought that it is somehow blocked by the app has been around far longer than that.

I use and iPad 4 through an Apple TV 3 purchased around 6 months ago.

The blank screen issue is cause by selecting mirroring on. You need to have mirroring off.

Mirroring?

I'm not familiar with this - is this a setting in the app, or a setting on the appleTV (my guess)?

Righto, so when you select AppleTV through AirPlay there'll be a slider for mirroring underneath. Just check that it's off - hope the below link to an image of what I mean works...

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
