Schwab's own summation of the problem, post-resignation, was "I was clouding the fundamentals".

Indeed it seems he was interfering with processes all over the shop and all was counter-productive.

He was just a DH

Schwab's issue was he thought the structure made the organisation, but it is the individuals that drive the organizations ad we had no one of great stature or experience save for Craig, who we put in a foreign position.

Oh and these 3 men have nothing but my sympathy, once again, the MFC is a place where careers come to stall, go backwards, or cease to exist entirely. I hope they can find their way again.

Then why did he have such an asinine organisational structure where he was effectively CEO and GMFO?

He was either determined to be involved, or thought he was supposed to be.

But it created a bottleneck and severely hampered the workings of the footy dept.

Anyway, que sera sera.

It is done.

That's harsh! He was actually a pretty friendly bloke the times I chatted with him and keen to engage supporters.

He thought it would work, and it might have, if he had better talent, and this includes himself, in the right positions.

Jackson has said that a traditional structure is required for a club so desperate for a solid and stable culture.

He is right of course, change is hard for seasoned teams, let alone whatever you would call us.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
