GAMEDAY - Round 6

Featured Replies

That was the most pleasing bit of play all day IMO. Everyone chased and never gave up, put the pressure on, turned it over, LOOKED INSIDE and kicked/disposed accurately, Shepard!!!!! And waddya know!!!! A running goal through the middle of the ground!!!!

Too easy inside our 50. Rebound came out without much pressure. Howe needs to learn to play in front late in a game when the legs (and hence the leaping ability) are pretty much gone.

Can we actually focus on the play rather than stupid catchphrases? No wonder people want the footy gone from Channel 7.

i think the commentary is very informative! shaun hampson takes a mark (cut to megan gale) the three amigos, megan gale is with shaun hampson (cut to shot of megan gale) jarred waites a great player just ask bruce. can do no wrong. shaun hampson is very romantic (cut to megan gale) and so on

Now Watson is the better part of a [censored],....however he does make some relevant observations..

Not nearly enough of our players get nearly enough possessions and when they do they arent effectively sufficiently with them.

Now nothing in that is news. Its that its reoccurring and continually so is the damning factor.

Despite a handful of Dees trying to stand up in reality Carlton just toyed with us.

we're a plaything...not an AFL side

Terrible game (standards wise). At least we did well in the contested situations and clearances.

Grimes getting injured does however insure that this game is another [censored] one.

Off to drink now in the knowledge that we are one game closer to the end.

Don't forget the slow mo replays that focus in on a player's facial expression during an inconsequential piece of play!

Pathetic commentary

I agree Doreen. There's nothing like Chanel 7's ability to add value to any game day commentary

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
