Dinner at the Viney's

Featured Replies

The club should hold a raffle. First prize - dinner at the Viney household, with Jack, Jesse and Jimmy (and of course Todd and Meghan and Max).

Todd's already in the MFC Hall of Fame; if the three young guns living at Casa Viney all come good, as expected, then Meg should probably be inducted too.

Jack and Jessie are solid lads and I am sure Dimitri likes a feast so you'd have to be quick to get served.

I like this and I'm sure the club will find plenty of fans with the $'s to put in for such a fantastic experience.

I would go further and turn the whole event into a reality TV show along the lines of the Kardashians* and also introduce other novelty experiences like dinner with the Schwabs' which would be popular with some segments of the Demon supporting clan. You could get the experts from My Kitchen Rules* to judge the standard of cooking.

Great idea and it should make back the $500k ripped off us recently by the AFL in no time.

* no I don't watch these shows but they do provide part of the background noise when the wife does!

I've had dinner with Hogan, Viney and Cale Morton. Hogan ordered two live bulls which he then wrestled to the ground and devoured them. Viney had a large plate of metal which he chewed through in seconds. Morton had the salad.

I'd like to see it drawn from a hat, from nominees for 6 young Melbourne teens under 15, to get the chance to attend a dinner... great for our future.

don't reduce it to those with plenty, to take the spoils, or you will spoil all.

They have no food left, Hogan ate it all.

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Night’s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourne’s memorable premiership triumph.

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
