Jack Trengove. His Star Yet To Shine?

Featured Replies

The thing about Trengove is that he has always been a very physical player. As a junior he played as a physically dominant player who would throw others around. In AFL he hasn't been able to do that because he's been a kid. But that's not his style.

As he gets bigger he'll be better able to play the style of game that he naturally plays. Very similar to what happened with Hayes, who has been getting better and better as he's matured. Trengove is no speed demon, but he'll be a really good player once he is physically able to play his natural game.

He has done it but got weeks 'Axis' and I reckon that set him back a bit. The AFL used him as an unfair sacrifice on the sling tackle issue and I reckon it had a big effect on him in his 2nd season.

Could his injury be a blessing in disguise? Maybe less expectation being placed on him because of an injury in the pre season will help him to get some real confidence in his own game with a little bit less pressure?

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
