Jack Billings and Lewis Taylor

It's early on but I'd suspect Billings will go one in the next draft.

Why are they trianing with us when we don't even know if we will get them in the draft?

I guess it's a form of work experience, IDD. Gives them a taste of the clubs in general.

Can't get my head around talk of 2013 draft already.

Hopefully we'll finish too high to consider a top 5 pick. The other reason we might not get a top 5 pick is too terrible to contemplate.

they might get Kneecapped? or is that kidnapped? ah well. Yooou knoowww,,, what I like.

It's a special short-term arrangement with all clubs as part of these kids being AIS-AFL academy players.

Is also an opportunity to improve the perception of the club. If these kids are treated well and can see the professionalism that appears to be more prevalent they will spread the good news about Melbourne. It would be good to be viewed as rivals to other clubs in this off field fashion. Sends all the right messages.

Lets hope we are not talking about the draft by round 2 like last season.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
