Redleg Correctly Picks Crows Penalties

Featured Replies

Thought I would blow my own trumpet. This is what I posted on another thread this morning.

"Don't think Crows will cop the iron fist.

I predicted earlier that they would be fined the amount of the 3rd party payment $300k and I still stand by that. 2 years of first and second round picks was on the cards and they may do better as they handed in a 3rd rounder with their first rounder this year. They were late round picks as well.

Tippett will cop half a season and end up at Swans on the money he wanted and they will have him for free, a huge win."

Anyone want to know the tattslotto numbers for this weekend?

Redleg.....I know someone who has an appeal next week seeking a fixed sentence.

Any chance you know the outcome, as you obviously can read the minds of judges?

If we get found guilty

I wouldn't mind receiving the draft disqualification they got.

Cannot recruit the first 2 picks, but you can trade them in the free agency.

WIN / WIN no more skinny bodies. Yeah!

Don't think that is correct. They actually lose their two first picks, but can trade their players for first or second round picks. They don't get to trade the picks they lost. However, the advent of free agency softens the penalty enormously.

The loss of Tippett frees up so much space, they could outbid everyone else to get the best couple of free agents, that might have in ordinary circumstances cost them their first picks anyway.

Yes, appeal dismissed.

Just read all the articles on this "scandal" what an absolute joke.

The Crows can still trade via free agency next year...$300,000 is petty ca$h Trigg didn't even answer questions & why was John Reid shattered? He was already retired...

Time for Vlad & Angry to go soon i feel.

The crows will hardly feel these penalties. Penalties even there board were unaware of.

The whole thing stinks...

No I dont.

I was discussing with someone the tanking issue and his view was that the AFL couldn't find it proved, as it would be a minefield in relation to the gambliing that went on. Litigation could block the courts forever.

Litigation would give the AFL, its commissioners & the game itself 2 blackeyes, & a double hernia.

This is where the AFL goes wrong, they Hit the offenders, then treat them with lollies. start wrong and continue wrong. but which is it,,, chicken first or the Egg?

This has been going on for decades, because they keep trying to appease the supporters by pulling the Wool.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but the post of mine that you responded to with those figures (the one where I mentioned the "steel fist"), was prompted by a tweet I saw containing those exact same penalties you mentioned and saying that was what the Crows and Tippet would be hit with.

the commission doing a little lightweight 'leak', to test the water?

see if the natives will except the magic firestick, as compensation for taking they're minerals & heritage?

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
