To continue what has been a great thread...

Chapman withdrawn from the Geelong side this week with a calf injury.

Calf injuries are generally a sign that the end is very near...

The Leadership Group are top of the tree...Why?...Because they are involved in the battle..hands on.

The Club is important, but i believe the leadership group drives the players

The Geelong Culture is strong due to a good deal with the AFL over their round as much as it is their excellence on field .

We cant replicate their off-field bonus every home game but we can try to emulate their belief and attitude in big games .

Buying some of their retirees as on field player-coahes is a low percentage move in my opinion.

Just get them in as mid-field coach as soon as possible .

Not great news for Jamar...

True.

The calf is often regarded as an "old man's injury".

and we signed Jamar to a 3-yr deal.

Chapman as a free agent, at $300-$350k over 2yrs is a good option. He showed agst the Hawks that he has the toughness, skills and ability to be at top of the game. We missed him in 1999 draft.

Culture, and inspiring to the young group. Can you imagine Chappy leading Viney, Jonesy, Jordie Mck etc into battle

Absolutely can. I think he'd help Jonesy's game to a higher level. Would be exciting for the young uns coming our way. And as has been suggested, entice Ling too as midfield coach.
