Nice bracket of tunes the H_T . Some good Aussie stuff in there - we've produced some great bands over the years hey !

A lot of us have been brought up on Pub Rock which is a very Australian thing . Lost count on who I've seen live !

Yes, thought I'd add some of my favourite bands & hits. Hunters & Collectors was another...

I'm not sure I've heard Incubus before. In any case, that songs is sweet!

I was listening to some of The Darkness last night. Thought I'd add one of their songs to the list.

Video was filmed in the Blue Mountains.

I see an element of Spinal Tap in these guys. At least that would explain why they make me laugh.

I had to cheat but yes , it is Pia Miller

Great 1st post .

I'm enjoying the music that's been posted - there's so much good rock out there - endless really .

Currently listening to a bit of Flyleaf and Lacuna Coil - will post 1 or 2 of their songs in the future .

This thread is a great way of introducing new ( and retro ) music to others - keep posting "Jack Jack" , cheers .

Haven't heard Shinedown before. Nice.

Here's one from the ol' Pink Floyd.

First album/single of the post Roger Waters era. Funnily enough it's about Waters.

I remember hearing this as a kid and for some reason or another associating it with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Now I know that Dave Gilmour and Douglas Adams were good friends, Adams actually came up with the Division Bell title for Gilmour, but I can't actually find any link with this song and Hitchhiker's Guide. Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me?

Here's one from The Rapture. The theme to the series Misfits.

They don't seem to have released a video with this song, so the best i could find is an unofficial little story/clip.

I can't, in good conscience, not put one up for these guys, Stone Temple Pilots.

They're right up there for me, probably my favourite band. I just don't think they've got a bad song in them.

And after years and years of waiting finally got to see them live earlier this year. Scott Weiland managed to pull himself together for long enough and made it this time. It was my first time at Festival Hall, but was truly amazing. I think I was like most of the crowd there and been hanging out to see them for the last 15 odd years. The place just went berserk. The audience completely drowned out the band during Interstate Love Song, just amazing.

Afterwards I was chatting to my old man about it. He tells me he snuck out of boarding school to watch Louis Armstrong there. I thought that was a pretty cool connection. And after further discussion we agree that they were probably still the same seats (the place doesn't look like it's changed for decades).

I hear they've got a new album out in the new year, can't wait,

Wow, EMF, that brings back memories. I remember a few of the UK groups at the time. Pet Shop Boys, East 17, KLF.

How good is Youtube for a trip down memory lane!

Great song - and a great sound . Another band I need to explore more - rest assured I will !

It's Scott Weiland, he's a genius, albeit seriously flawed. I don't think Velvet Revolver would have gotten anywhere without him. In fact from memory I think once he left VR they were unable to get another record contract.

This guy just flat out rocks acoustic, insanely talented.

Nascent 1.1

Addictive canadian rock/metal/punk/progressive band that i've listened to for the past 4 months non stop.

Nascent 1.2

Local progressive/rock band, awesome live

Bulb (Misha Mansoor) is an incredibly talented musician/producer. Puts alot of his stuff out there for free on soundclick and has a lot of time for fans. Someone did this mash up on youtube with a song from paramore. Works well I think.

Those guys are awesome. I'll have to get my hands on more of their stuff.

I thought the Aussie tank top in the clip was a nice touch for a Canadian band!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
