Dexter is back! (Dexter Resurrection)

And getting rave reviews

New season 6 episodes in

The Bear season 4 is good, thought 3 was a bit hit & miss but this one is back in form…

Looking forward to the new season of Slow Horses due in September.

In the meantime I have a the guilty pleasure of watching What’s My Line, from the 50’s early 60’s. A time capsule & quite addictive…Arlene Francis is a gem…

Bill Peach's 'The Explorers' ... A 10 part series and well worth a look. First broadcast in 1984

For anyone who subscribes to Apple TV+, I highly recommend watching ’Down Cemetery Road’. It’s written by the same person that wrote ‘Slow Horses’ and is equally as brilliant!

'Down Cemetary Road' looks the goods, HT ... the 2 lead actresses are favourites of mine too

Also, 'Pluribus' is superb and well worth a look, especially so (or more so) if you like the genre (Dystopian Sci-fi, Dark Comedy, Psychological Drama)

Vince Gilligan writes and directs a number of episodes (formerly X-Files, Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul)

Yes, I’ve got Pluribus down as a must watch (right up my alley) and likewise re the lead actresses in DCR. Another series I’ve been watching on Netflix and have been enjoying, is Bodkin…a very good Irish mystery/comedy.

@hardtack

'Down Cemetary Road' has that 'The 39 Steps' feel to the show (in terms of the adventure up North to Scotland)

2 more episodes to go and it's a real cliffhanger

Here's 'The 39 Steps' (Colorised and in HD) ... made 90 years ago. A Classic movie for those who haven't seen it

I reckon Ruth Wilson stole the show in Luther...

Enjoying 'Down Cemetery Road' good follow up after another great season of 'Slow Horses'.

Stumbled across another gem ... 'The Offer' (made and released in 2022)

A 10 part mini-series Docu-Drama about the making of 'The Godfather'. Actually, it's more a story about the hindrances and roadblocks put forward

Fast paced with plenty of nostalgia involved and the music that accompanies the show is great

All the actors who played out the various roles are very good (Puzo, Coppola, Ruddy, Pacino et al)

I started watching Pluribus the other day and am loving it, so thanks for that recommendation Macca! I know it’s nothing like it, but it has a kind of Truman Story feel to it.

Another that I’m reminded of when watching Pluribus, is Fallout…and I’m so pleased to see that Season 2 drops on Apple TV this Friday… can’t wait!! It’s one of the most enjoyable sci-fi series I’ve seen for a while; right up there with The Last Of Us and Silo.

Entirely different to the aforementioned, but just as engaging, is an Irish series called Bodkin…it’s on Netflix. I won’t give anything away, just watch it.

Also on Netflix, and I may have mentioned this one before, but the Japanese series, Sanctuary, about a sumo wrestler who refuses to play by the rules and bow to tradition, is flat out brilliant. A MUST watch, in my opinion.

The Gilded Age is very good if you like Period-Drama ... the storyline centres around New York circa 1880's with regards the old money vs the new money

Loosely based on the main magnates of the day ... Vanderbilt, Rockefeller, Carnegie, JP Morgan, Jay Gould & The Astor Family. They've spared no expence on the production values, the sets and costumes along with any number of storylines to maintain interest. There's an hour long official podcast for every episode available on Youtube

If you liked Downton Abbey, you'll like The Gilded Age. Series 4 of TGA has just been renewed

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
