OMR's Crystal Ball - SAM BLEASE

Featured Replies

Knowing the emotional journey this kid has been on over the past 5 years I thought it would be a nice to revisit

his meeting with The Prez when he 1st arrived @ the club.

I've seen a few other threads about Blease and reckon you could have used them to revisit the topic; I thought it was grandstanding.

Rogue - Some interesting reading in your homework, not sure what provoked your attack however has been noted.

Your assertion that you were an Oracle prompted it; I wondered whether you perhaps really were an Oracle, so I clicked on your list of posts and looked at the first page of results.

Sadly you're not - I was going to ask for the tatts numbers - but it's all tongue-in-cheek so I hope you took it that way.

As I said in that very post, I'm no oracle; I gave the McLean example as one I got very wrong.

So what do both of you actually think of the form of Sam Blease in the past 3 weeks?

I've commented on this in other threads. In a word, promising. If there were two words, I'd add 'very'.

Moral of the story - Don't f@$k with Rogue

Geez, you fair lined him up, Rogue? Something get you shirty enough to come off the long run?

Haha, not at all. I honestly can't even remember reading a prior post from OMR. I just took the same view as Thomo:

You did not start this thread to discuss Blease, you started it to congratulate yourself.

From the reaction I get that my post might have been a bit harsh, but that wasn't the intention.

Fwiw, Rogue has been looking forward to seeing Sam Blease ply his trade at AFL level. Yesterday's game would have put a smile-on-the-dial, no doubt.

Absolutely; it was great. The crowd reaction when he went for a few runs seemed to indicate I wasn't alone.

Steady on!

If you're going to set yourself up as the Oracle you've got to embrace your other calls too.

Let's take a trip down memory lane with Oracle Man Rivers:

How about we start with Chris Johnson?

.......

That said, your hit rate is probably as good as Nostradamus.

NB. I've made incorrect calls - I was all sorts of wrong on McLean - but I also don't start up threads boasting that I'm the oracle :P

*Stands and applauds*

Awesome detective work Rogue. Ouch.

Rogue & especially little Mr Fushcia

Thanks for the negative response to what was a light hearted attempt @ higlighting the scintalating form of Sam Blease

in what has been a dark year for our great club.

Mr Fushcia - You just enjoy going about sucking the life out of everything you come in contact with your bullsh_t Wisdom quotes.

Highlight Blease's form not your own. ;)

I was a bit surprised at his build . If you look at him and Scully Sam is actually a lot more solid . Really does look a quality player.

All I can say is someone has too much time. In going back to find those...

Remember football is all about hope, for now and the future as its constantly renews itself...thank god.

I wonder what my old posts say lol

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
