Also WTF would you sub Warnock off and leave Morton on????????? Has the coach truely lost his marbles? Geez.

Warnock was awful though, but Morton worse. It has got to the stage where I would be genuinely suprised if he makes it to the level of even being a decent/good player. Anyone who tries to defend his kicking is in dreamland.

This is worse than 2008 or even 2009. We should be improving or at least showing signs of improvement.

We've got a game plan that is sh^t and even Tom Harley has said we are the only side in the AFL that play this way, we've got a coach that no one knows if he can coach after nearly 4 years at the helm (IMO is [censored] useless) and we've got players who still manage to miss kick or kick the footy out of bounds on a regular basis. These skills are the most [censored] basic skills in the AFL yet will still cant manage it.

All of us here love the Dees but we have the same conversations every week about how pathetic we are. The thing that really pisses me off apart from the above is that I am sick to death of having to watch this sh^t every week and hear the same excuses from the coaches.

Its time for the MFC to make a stand. Show some BALLs and FFS get rid of the coach and stick Viney in there as an interim measure while looking for a new head coach for next season. Viney will bring passion, hardness and accountablility back to the side. Its better than putting up with this sh^t.

Something needs to happen you can not put in those performances and expect supporters to BLINDLY follow without question. Last time I looked I wasnt a sheep.

Am I on my own here or is this the general feeling of others?

yep unfortunately yep... as members and supporters our wait has been way to long for the ultimate success I have seen the demons play in two grand finals in my lifetime and both times they got belted. we need a hard nut coach who wont take the bullcrap.

u wonder whether it's the system or the player. i reckon it's the system. nice articles today in the paper dean. you talk it up but there's no walk. it's a stumble.

I know things are bad but it is ridiculous to think that having Jamar, Scully, Trengrove, Grimes, Garland, Tapscott and even Bail (who was in best 22 on form) back in the team wouldn't help.

Still, don't know what it is with this club. Perpetual losers.

Could always be worse mate, just thank your deity you don't follow Footscray or St Kilda. At least we have some history,as old as it is,to hang our hats on.Mind you the hat stand is near worn out.

At least Warnock puts his body on the line and has a real crack. With him in the back line it frees Frawley up to a certain degree and (most of the time) makes our back line look better, more structured.

That mark he dropped in the first quarter that resulted in a Carlton goal was horrendous though. Deserved the bronx cheers when he took his next mark.

And kicked out on the full under little pressure that directly led to a goal seconds later. He is a trier, but ultimately isn't up to it.

Or it would have freed Frawley up, had he not been stuck on a player who he was never going to be able to run off. This deprived us of one of our few attacking weapons - Frawley's purposeful & intelligent runs out of defence - all night.

I know he has his faults but I still like him in the back line and when the midfield start to pressure the opp midfield then he shouldnt be under as much pressure.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
