Its easy to come out after the heat has been put on the team and the coach and thrash the corws by 96 points but it will mean nothing if we cant back it up next week.

We need to prove we can win at other grounds and we havent won at Etihad in awhile and last year North thrashed us. This is a game we should win plus Id love to see boomer put on his backside by Tapscott or anyone for that matter.

2 wins in a row would be fantastic and keep our spot in the 8.

We have seen it now - so therefore absolutely NO EXCUSES ANY MORE. If you don't put in, you must be put out.

Each and every player MUST put in like today to get over the Dogland and the Roos hoodoo next week.

Great effort all concerned.

A great performance today, but you're right. The same effort and intensity needs to be bought to the table next week. And we need to capitalise on our chances. We totally dominated the whole match but only dominated the score board in the second half today.

i think we were only in 30 seconds into the 1st Quarter and you just knew they had come to play.

Win, lose or Draw, I just want the effort they displayed today.

If we play like we did today I have every confidence in us breaking the hoodoo. North are crap.

But if we don't, we will lose. Pure and simple.

Intensity kept us in the game in the first half when our skills were hit and miss.

Intensity blew them out of the water when the skills got more polished.

That's what they need to take from today.

Exactly right! We have just proven the old adage that a week is a long time in football but it works the other way too.

Great performance today but it means NOTHING if we don't back it up so don't get carried away...

As was on here last week that WC game could be the turning point for us as we realized we need some serious changes to our attitude.

We back it up and this may just be our turning point when we finally gain some consistency but we play terribly again next week and it's back to square one.

Was great to see that was Deano's main theme in the press conference today.

Come on Dees! Next week is our test!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
