Had a great morning tea break looking through all the memorabilia on your website.

You've got a fantastic collection!

Surely our own Nasher may be attending. If so, we will be able to gain a report from him.

I was hoping nobody would dob me in here :-p I have an uphill battle justifying to better half (and indeed myself) that the 2.5hr each way drive on a shonky highway is worth it for a practice match. And I'm crap at writing match reports, but if I make it to the match I might offer a brief player synopsis.

I heard he was in 2 minds.

sorry no programmes or team sheets available not even any merchandise stand for melbourne supporters but plenty of hawk gear but dee supporters numbers matched hawthorns with team colours on

The only programs at the ground on Friday were the generic NAB cup programs that I'm guessing was about for the entire nab cup/challenge.

Here is the squad that was given for Friday nights game. Could someone who was there indicate who actually played please?

1. Matthew Warnock

2. Nathan Jones

3. Clint Bartram

4. Jack Watts

5. Jordan Gysberts

6. Matthew Bate

7. Jamie Bennell

12. Colin Sylvia

14. Lynden Dunn

15. Ricky Petterd

16. Jack Grimes

18. Brad Green

19. Addam Maric

20. Colin Garland

22. Brent Moloney

24. Liam Jurrah

27. Jared Rivers

28. Joel MacDonald

31. Tom Scully

34. Stefan Martin

35. Luke Tapscott

36. Aaron Davey

38. Jeremy Howe

39. Neville Jetta

40. Mark Jamar

42. Jake Spencer

44. Rohan Bail

45. Kelvin Lawrence

47. James Strauss

These we know -

GOALS

Melbourne: Maric 3, Jurrah 2, Jamar, Green, Moloney, Scully, Davey, Petterd, Bate

BEST

Melbourne: Maric, Davey, Grimes, Scully

And Bailey mentioned Kelvin Lawrence

All did apart from Dunn and spencer.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
