Training Thursday 3rd March

Is anyone 100% positive we have not practiced the press at all this preseason?

A bit of conjecture here.

And what's to say we weren't practicing countering the press, rather than applying it?

Correct. And surely by now, after all that has transpired in the last 3 years, people have a little bit of faith in the football department and coaches. Surely.

Then again this is Demonland..........

If you look at the stats MFC has the second worst defensive forward zone in the league

We absorb incredible pressure in our forward zone and not enough in the oppositions

I appears to me( IMO) that we are not fierce enough and will be beaten easily by teams like Colloingwood and beat Ess....

?????????? LIke last year when we played the Premiers twice? Good grief.

And got beaten by the Bummers in the pre season but smashed them in the H&A??

Bring on Rd 1 quick please.

This seriously concerns me. Bailey obviously did not think we needed a full press zone and has not employed one all pre-season training. Yet off the back of a NAB Cup game and some media he appears to have diverted from what his strategy was and suddenly 3 weeks out from the season starts teaching one.

It's a conundrum - the full press may not be our game style but to practice against it we need to implement it at training.

i hope we dont just carbon copy collingwoods press, how many teams win flags just copying the game style of last years premierers? i hope we come up with something that will beat the press and then in 2013 teams are trying to copy our game style, please dont bring back the oh they won it with this, this is where the game is heading, because it changes every few years. we may get slaughted a few times, but this is because we are still learning. please stick to our game plan.

i love how alot of ppl here are better coaches than those who are professionals who are paid for it...
