Not according to the AFL website

got a link? i couldnt find any stats on there.

but.......if ti was 52 - 28, would the afl have the correct stats up there?? ooo controversial... dont tell the SS

essendon had 52 free kicks. we had 28.

80 free kicks. 20 a quarter. disgraceful umpiring.

Ignoring the doubts over the validity of these numbers for a sec - why does this statistic in isolation imply disgraceful umpiring? There's no rule that says the ledger must be square in free kicks. I'd say if the free kick count really is that lopsided, it probably implies disgraceful undisciplined MFC. That's certainly what I was thinking at the time - stop giving away so many effing free kicks!!

I agree, but 14 free kicks to 0 in the last isn't due to undiscipline football. Angus Monfries put Strauss' arm under his arm and bought it towards his body then got himself a free kick. a chicken wing should be a mfc free kick. one of the umpires last night was nothing short of a joke and should retire to be a professional masterbater.

/ FWIW i check the AFL site and it was 26 free kicks ESS to 14 MFC.

Not 52 28 like one suggested

makes sense, seems my app must have got its wires crossed. 26-14 is half 52-28. anyway my original point was that 80 was faaaaaaaaar to many. 40 is too many IMHO but is much more realistic. although gee there were some shockers in there. every year we go to the footy and go, woah that wasnt a free kick last year. just leave the rules alone.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
