I have come to the conclusion that all our marketing endeavours from here on out are going to be targeted to a younger audience- and they should be. The youth represents our future membership base and these are the minds which are impressionable.

Wouldn't that preclude the use of an obscure song from an off-beat cartoon from 15 years ago?

I enjoyed it, but my warped memory thought they had purposely changed the tune to avoid copyright issues, but it is identical.

That's why Bailey's voice changes & goes all weird at one stage.

Any light you could shed on this chopper..?

Cheers Trident,

I see kids clad in red and blue doing happy happy joy joy dance for many years to come

Go dees

True, but those kids have parents.. win/win :)

Sorry, but I think it's embarrassing. For the record I got the Ren & Stimpy reference too. Don't understand why the club would release something like this officially.

Lucky that at least your kids all seemed to like it, if it was aimed at adults it's pretty pathetic.

I don't see why it would, we enjoyed it when we were young. The message of "happy happy joy joy" is still prevalant today.

works a treat on my mac, install flip4mac and silverlight and you'll be right for most videos...also flash''

I liked it but its out there.

It is the original song with Bails saying the intro. His voice does change at one

stage, because he only did the start bit. I dont think there is any copyright issue.

My understanding of the 'Free use act' is that if it's not for profit you can use it.

There's probably more to it than that, but I'm sure club has smarter people than me

over seeing these sorts of things.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
