Bloody Seattle winning and we have the Eagles this week then go to Seattle.

Must win in Seattle even if we lose to the Eagles.

Would have helped us if the Eagles won tho.

Rams are looking decent but still so many holes, our D is either good v run or v passing. Not string8ng many games together that holds both. Hope it starts this week.

Yeah the race is on for the 1 & 2 seed in the NFC ... 2 teams have almost certainly won their divisions in the NFC  (Eagles & Vikings) and then it's down to the Rams & Seahawks for the West whilst 3 teams can still win the South.

The good news for the neutrals is that a lot of the top teams are playing each other in the run in to the playoffs ... and it starts on Friday (Saints @  Atlanta) Your game vs the Eagles next week should be a cracker - and there's a lot on the line too.

The AFC is less interesting but teams in that conference can also get hot at the right time ... so the Chargers & Ravens could get on a run.

I was most impressed with Seattle,  New Orleans,  Minnesota,  the Rams,  Jacksonville (with Bortles),  New England & the Ravens today.  The Eagles did it tough but that game in Seattle will help them in the long run.  The jury is out on Carolina & Atlanta.

We have Eagles, @seahawks, @titans, niners

They have @jags, Rams, cowboys (zeke will be back), @ cards.

Interesting run for both, ours slightly harder I think.

McAdoo & Reese both sacked - effective immediately

My god. The first good move they've made in ages.... and best of all for Macca.... Eli reinstated.

My beef was always about disrespecting a player who brought about the ultimate success ... Eli was that person but it's not like I'm enamoured with the bloke (even though it might look that way) I would argue just as fiercely for any number of people caught up  in identical situations

Anyway Dappa ... the Giants have one hell of a mess to clean up.

Stuff the giants!

Rams ahve a winning season!!!

Ogletree looks like he will miss stone games which is really bad for us.

Couple of very nasty helmet-to-helmet hits in today's game ... the sport is brutal enough without the need for these types of illegal hits to unsuspecting players.

Brutality of Steelers-Bengals shouldn't be dismissed as 'AFC North football'

In all the news this season, the Giants dumpster fire might be the biggest. I mean... it couldn't be going worse for them.

I've been following since 2009. Is this the first cripple since then?

That's what I like to see - true colours!

There is nothing quite like the rivalries within the divisions in the NFL ... your Eagles need every win they can get in order to attain the 1 or 2 seed and you play both the Giants & Dallas in the run in.  That's on top of a visit to the Rams next Sunday.  No match is easy when bragging rights are at stake.

Couple of days ago Eagles were unstoppable with the #1 seed. Now, they lose to the Rams, they're hosting a wild card. How good is NFL!

But no... Everyone, even Eagles fans, is glad Eli's back on top. Sanity prevails. The used car salesman is out.

To the all important next 4 weeks... I'm not too worried. Having said that... lose to the Rams, you're gonna see batteries being thrown at the Linc.

There were some pretty awful hits this weekend. Gronks hit deserves a week. I hope it stands.

No ogletree is going to hurt us.  Seems he did the injury in his TD celebration...

It's being reported that Shazier is able to feel all his extremities ... might be a career-threatening injury to his back though.

The sport can be absolutely frightening at times.  The NFL really needs to clamp down on players leading with a lowered helmet to an unsuspecting players.  Hefty suspensions would help.

Shazier contributed to his own injury but a re-education process needs to be enacted.  As previously stated,  the sport is brutal enough as it is.

We've spoken at length. It;s gonna take a career ender to make change. People are slow.

As far as news from the demonland perspective... this could be the furthest reaching since the concussion protocol etc...

And what's next. How does this affect our game? Braysh etc...

Gorg. This is it. Macca doesn't even understand what this is like. His team MIGHT be out of the playoffs for the first time since he was able to drive legally... ;)

For you and me though... This week is Gorg and Dappa week.

Bring it on.

What say you Rams?

At this time of the season the evening games can be bumped to accommodate better match-ups.  But I think it might be too late to reschedule the Eagles @ Rams game to SNF or MNF.

The game might be on 7mate though ... they haven't listed the match-ups yet.  Check tomorrow.  Redzone is great but sometimes you want to watch a whole game when it's of this magnitude.  Even in standard definition.

You and Gorgo should have a sportsman's bet on the game.  I had one a ways back and had to have Trump's head as my avatar for a month.  It was torture

And you're right,  I've been spoilt as a Packers fan.  What I'd like is to have another hall-of-famer to follow Rodgers.  Is that being a tad greedy?

Is that a tad too greedy...

let me think... Yes. lol

Having said that. You can't look to that point until you're in the POST Rodgers era. You have another 5 years before that happens. He still has to rob Carson or Jared of a deserved NFC championship or two before you can look to the future.

I'll go with you on one thing though... the Avatar bet... I think it's sensible. I think it's fair. I think it's only the right thing to do for the all conquering "other" sports thread. Let's go @Gorgoroth... winners choice of Avatar?

I'll be honest. I'm not gonna feel the least bit ashamed to have Goff as mine. The kid has won me over completely. He even got me a win this week as my starting QB in fantasy.

It's gotta annoy and hurt a bit Dappa ... no soft landings on 'land

Here's a couple of likely candidates ...

I'll take either...

I think Jeff hurts more for Gorg...

I think the sting for an Eagles fan would be Goff. Winking and smiling like the California d--bag he is. ;)

Man. Look at him.

He coached the big apple to playoffs... Looking like he's a porno director from the 80s.

And the funniest part? Hue Jackson lasted longer than him.

For me? Sure. And for you? Hard to improve on Jeff Fischer.

So for how long?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • AFLW: 2025 Season Preview

Ten seasons. Eighteen teams. With the young talent pathway finally fully connected, Women’s Australian Rules football is building momentum and Season 2025 promises to be the best yet. In advance of Season 10, the AFL leadership has engaged in candid discussions with all clubs regarding strategies to boost attendance and expand fan bases. Concerningly, average attendances in 2024 were 2,660 fans per match, with the women’s game incurring an annual loss of approximately $50 million.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
