CFL is on live right now, watching a bit of it, it's making me miss the NFL.

Agreed, hanging out for the season to start. Only 7 weeks till the first preseason game... Even if their preseason is rubbish!

T least with the Rams pre season I should see the QB nice and early.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had a look at gamepass to see what  the pricing was & seems as though there is only the full package available... I cant remember in previous years if the individual team packages come closer to pre season or not.. Im not to keen on paying $260 to watch Falcons games, I wouldnt get much time to watch any of the other stuff

I  think i paid $130ish no playoffs a few years ago.

Mate just told me he had tix to see Eagles opener and is flying over for it.

Just read that officially the only Gamepass package avaliable this season is the full package at $260.. Previous years I have just got the Falcons games for around $130. Seems like I'll have to pay the $260 for the full package if I want to watch Falcons games. You do get all games & all playoffs but I wont watch many other games & playoffs are free on fox & 7mate so seems $260 is a rip off!

We released Foles.

No suprises there really is there... Surely Goff will be the #1 when they release the first depth chart & given first crack at training camp & pre season games ?

You would think so.  I know fisher had said Keenum is in the mix but surely Goff can hand the ball to Gurley 50 times a game...

Hanging for the season to start. At the moment I'm soaking in all the attention the vikes are getting on NFL network as a contender. I don't think we are better then Carolina,Seattle,Arizona or Green Bay at their best. New stadium looks great and I think Atlanta are building a new shiny stadium as well.

So Tre Mason is missing...

His mum has now called in the police to try and find him.

Seems the young bloke has some issues... Strange his just dropped off the radar, you'd think someone would have raised the alarm before now.

Dwight Freeney signed a one year deal with the Falcons, heres hoping he can improve our dreadful pass rush... Although not good to rely on a 36 year old.

Yeah it is strange, but during the off season the clubs are not able to contact the players so easy enough from the club point of view.

Flicked over to ESPN to have a look at the Hall of Fame game and see the games been cancelled due to field condition... Wouldn't see that too often!!

Read on bleacher report that tee mason was seen doing training drills out the front of his mother's house. He told reporters he won't attend training camp and he has had some run ins with police in the off season.

Alright the season is only a couple of weeks away & I'm getting excited... I'm going to kick off with some season predictions.

AFC  East
Pats
AFC West
Cheifs
AFC North
Bengals
AFC South
Colts

NFC East
Giants
NFC West
Cardinals
NFC North
Packers
NFC South
Panthers

Wild Card- Raiders, Steelers, Vikings, Seahawks

Superbowl - Packers

MVP - Aaron Rodgers

Passing Yards- Drew Brees

Receiving Yards- Julio Jones

Rushing Yards- Todd Gurley

Gurley I'm typing to start ok.  Then to be hampered by the fact the rams still can't throw the ball.

Cards look the best in our div. Seashawks second. Our D just doesnt look as good in the secondary. I'm going out O line actually performs this year and we find some recievers to catch the bloody thing.

Just realised I've left the defending champs out of the playoffs... I'll stick with it, don't think Sanchez will be all that great at QB, having said that Peyton wasn't all that good last year & Denvers defense won them the SB, not sure they can do it again this year. I'm bullish on the Raiders chances in that division, really like them on both sides of the ball & I'm a fan of Carr, hope they make the playoffs...

I'll have a go at the division winners etc on the weekend ... the season kicks off in just over 2 weeks - that came around quickly this time probably because of the footy team still being thereabouts and getting all of our attention.

Does anyone take any notice of the preseason games? I'm well and truly hooked on the real stuff but barely even look at the scores in the preseason games.  The games are ultra important for formations, schemes, running routes and what not but the importance of the winning & losing is probably reserved for the real stuff.

Anyway, we can do the tipping comp again if we have enough starters (5 or 6 or more) ... thought it best to leave it as it is (tip 3 road winners from 3 picks) but may throw an extra bonus point round in (or 2)  Bonus weeks can be the odd numbered weeks starting with week one ... 2 points max except week 17 which traditionally carries 3 points.

Yeah 100% Melbourne been alive late in the season has taken my attention away from the NFL.

I enjoy the tipping so if you can find the time again Macca I'm in for sure... I like the 3 road winner system we've got going!!

On the preseason, I tried to watch the Falcons/Browns game last friday but I just couldn't get into it, with no real meaning it's quiet boring. I think with so many random players who aren't even going to make the 53 man roster it's hard to even watch for young players & see how they go. I'll have a quick look at the highlights but there pointless from a spectacle really.

Anyone else getting gamepass this year? I ended up forking out the $260!

In preseason I don't pay attention to much until well 3 when first team play about a half. Week four is really thier only meaningful game.

Well here goes ...

NFC North - Vikings

NFC East - Dallas

NFC West - Arizona

NFC South - Panthers

AFC North - Steelers

AFC East - Pats

AFC West - Denver

AFC South - Colts

Wildcards - Seattle,  Packers,  Bengals,  KC

Super Bowl - Panthers

MVP - Cam Newton

Passing yards - Carson Palmer

Receiving yards - Julio Jones

Rushing yards - Adrian Peterson

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
