Useless Trivia for the Day

Featured Replies

Brett Kirk is retiring this year, and will probably finish just shy of 200 consecutive games.

Who's got the most consecutive for the Demons? Following in the rucking traditions of Big Jim, its none other than Mark Jamar, on a whopping

23 game streak. Who would've thought, being so injury prone for his first 5 or 6 years that he'd one day be leading this stat?

Upon opening I thought you were going to leave the question open.

Top 3:

Jamar 23

Jones 22

Green 21

Some more useless trivia / data: -

Current top 10 in total Brownlow Votes received for the Melbourne Football Club:

1. C. Bruce - 42

2. J. McDonald - 18

3. B.Green - 16

4. N.Jones - 11

5. A.Davey - 10

6. B.Moloney - 8

7. B.Miller - 6

8. M.Bate - 6

9. C.Sylvia - 5

10. C.Morton - 4

Trivia Question: Have a guess who topped the Brownlow voting for the Demons in 2001 with 11 votes ?

*(try and guess without searching for the answer - as if asking for honesty will work !)

That's actually quite incredible. Not having thought about it much until now, I would have thought someone would have played a lot more than 23?! Obviously when you sit back and think about it, with our injuries and poor form - it makes sense!

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
