Geez.. what a game

Great stuff keeping us informed KC - look forward to your report!

Amazing. Who would have thought.

Miller...what can I say?? Looks like, on form, he will be playing in the red and blue next week if one of our key forwards do not perform. 10 is good in anyones book.

Good effort Casey. Anybody who is watching the coverage able to say if Morton is playing or not?

Totally agree.

All he (or any player) can do is play very well & keep pressure on players in the seniors to keep playing well themselves. And, Miller is doing that at the moment. Will be a very handy player to have come finals time.

Btw - didnt see Morton out there.......

Neither he nor Jones played today.

Jones and Morton not playing! mmmmmmmmmm?

Jones and Morton not playing! mmmmmmmmmm?

The word was that Jones trained with the boys this morning - so he is the designated emergency who they keep aside just in case.

Morton though...... Maybe he pulled out cos he was sore somewhere himself??

No Morton or Jones.

Millsy could've actually kicked another 2 or 3, he was DOMINANT and 6 alone in the 3rd. Liam Jurrah would have to show more desperation tomorrow as I can't see how any bloke is overlooked after a performance like that. Some match ups probably suited him, but 10 doesn't come around at any level so easily.

I can see why now games are moved because my 2 year old is recovering in the shower from the quagmire. It's actually worse in every area but the ground itself, water & mud just sits on top of the surface everywhere. But being pretty local to the area I love that the Dees are here.

I have to say seeing Sam Blease play live for the first time was something else. He was far from dominant but in & around packs he IS dominant. His pace is just unbelievable and it was something to watch seeing him leave a pack of 10 players floundering. Clean!!

If he does everything right, there is a midfield spot waiting for this kid in any team. Lock him in for Round 1 next year if all goes well and if he doesn't happen to snag one in Round 22.

Neville Jetta injured his shoulder.

Tapscott was reasonably busy early in the game although some of his kicks were sprayed. He seemed to disappear somewhat in the 2nd half as we gained momentum.

Blease was hardly sighted early, which is understandable as he worked his way into the game adjusting to the pace, but wow that last quarter and a half really showed glimpses of the future the way he was able to find space and break lines.

Don't think he'd get a senior AFL game before the end of the year, and on that performance likewise Tapscott, but you can see he'd probably adjust quite comfortably to life at AFL level.

Casey being taught a football lesson here and are only being kept in the game by their own accuracy. Miller has 3 goals.

Suns 10.9.69 Scorps 7.2.44

Casey wins by 3 points. Miller kicks 10.2 and Jetta injures right shoulder

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
