Bailey rates us a 5 out of 10

5/10 seems pretty fair. And in all honesty who would know better?? we're off and running but a long ways to go . Its about the slimmest of passes acknowledging we are on the way up and deserve the accolade asociated with this but its really saying..any less and we'd be failing and thats just about where we are.

Succint and accurate Bails.. 5/10 it is

I agree I think his is fairly accurate. Our success rate is only 38% add a bit for the game we lost because of bloddy pink umpires

and 5/10 looks good to me.

I am however fearful for the next ten games, we have to win on the weekend. This is a team below us with a poor side we must win this one wether it is in Adelaide or not.

In front at quarter time is in my opinion the key, only the very best sides can give starts and still win and we are far from one of the best sides at present.

In this second half of the season only wins count. No more honourable losses!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im going to suggest that the next half isnt so much about simplistic win /lose but more about efforts and quarters. It will be more about individuals and their tasks, and keeping to them. it wont be purely about the scoreboard. bailey isnt too worried about the myopic ideal of simply winning games at present. it wil be about the mehtods and applications. Itll be about game time into as many legs as possible, building depth and belief. Sometimes you can win ..but tread over the role assigned. its a short term buzz but nothing learnt. I sense Bailey is more about longer term goals. were not trying to impact the finals this year. we're trying to learn consistency. Trying to learn application to tasks for 4 qtrs.

Stop thinking its all about the umpires..if you think they are the difference your way off. A good team will win regardless

While most of what you say is true.

It is about winning.

We won 4 games last year and tanked out of at least 3. Potential 7 wins last year.

Anything less than 8 - 9 wins is in my opinion another bottom six result.

Bailey says 4.5 wins in barely a pass mark.

I agree with him.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
