We sound like we're all over them now, punishing them for their mistakes. Scrubby but getting it over the line.

One point in it.

How's McKenzie playing?

The usual.. a little less possies (9), with 5 hard tackles to compensate for it..

He should explode with sculgove next year..

Back out to 7. It has that annoying 'close but not enough' feel about it at the moment.

It's a good test of where we're at.

I knew I shouldn't have written that. We were playing sensationally for the first half of the third quarter... Hill Marks and goals and now they're beating us in the 3rd.

Are we spent? Bennell has been creative and is now apparently playing with only one eye.

Weather letting off a little, which is helping them it seems.

Yeah, we're starting to tire and its effecting our already poor possession.

Benny! Great mark.. against the trend of play.. goal and mark of the week for the benster..

EDIT: Ha.. you could hear what i was seeing!

Can't expect to win a game kicking what looks like 5 goals to 3/4 time.

We nee to kick that many in the last just to have a chance. Where do they come from?

Some problems in our forward line. PLENTY to like about the side though.

What a shame Friday night footy becomes such a dour affair.

Matty Lloyd just said he's impressed with Hughes. Says he's the best lead-up forward on the ground!

quick goals to scully and jones and back within 3 points. go dee's!

3 points at the last break. Great to see us sticking with them.

Hope that first quarter doesn't come back to bite us.

C'mon Dees!

Were Scully and Trengove off that quarter? I hope so. That would suggest they'll have something left in the last.

How good are they? Scully 21 touches, Trengove 23 and it's only 3/4 time! Jones having a good game. Grimes 21 touches and Bruce 21 as well.

Of the opposition, geez that Higgins (despite the gift) as a good player. All over the joint. Gia is doing what he does best too.

Demons 7.10 - 52

Dogs 8.7 - 55

Anyone's game.

Scully. Rising star. Calling it.

My hearts beating out of my f*cking chest! demon_biggrin.gif

We want this really bad.. win, lose or draw - we've won respect!

Go Dees

Scully 8 possessions in first 12 minutes of this quarter.

Advantage Umpire!! Fargin cheats..

It doesnt matter!!! Hughes goal.. we 9 pts up..

2 more gls will seal it..

HUGHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kicks the clutch goal!!! Pressure!

Welcome to MFC!!!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
