You should all consider yourselves priveledged to go to this game. There's a significant portion of us on here that for various reasons can't make this game. Some of us can't even watch it on the tele. Spare a thought for us, and consider - for those of you who will be there - how important today will be in the next 10-15 years of the club. Let alone its long-term future.

I'm taking my little boy to his first game today. I usually like to go by myself but I'm hoping that many years from now that he will be able to say - after the Dee's have had another golden era - that he was there the day that it all started.

with a bit of luck, in the coming years sylvia and mclean will turn it on, and we will all say it started in 03! :P

PS the name of the top article is terrible. 'electrify against the pies'? its like some people with writers block were sitting around and couldn't come up with a good pun. why not just, electrify the pies, or, watts to provide dees with the electricity they need, or something that flows better?

my favourite quote EVER:

"I feel privileged to be playing in the first game he plays..." Harry O'Brien on Jack Watts' debut.

IM ABOUT TO GO MENTAL!!!!!!! GO THE DEEEEEEEEES

I also go alone each week but I am taking 4 people who would not normally come to the footy today. I am super excited and it feels like a final for me! Yes Dappa I do feel privileged!

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
