Was asked if he would be back this week. Said he's been 'doing his bit' down at Casey and that he is 'loving his football again.' Said the conditions down at Frankston on the weekend were the worst conditions he's ever played in.

Was asked if he's felt any limitations physically coming back off the injury. Said he 'feels it' during warmups but as soon as the ball is bounced it goes away. Said he hasn't had any problems leading 'back and forwarth, back and forwarth' working hard to escape defenders, or 'dancing' as he says Bails calls it.

Was asked if he had noticed any changes in the game since doing his injury. Said he's been watching alot of football and observing other forwards and how they play. Said some players are finding it hard to adjust to new rules changes. Said he doesn't like the focus on running into the umpire. Said all players are trying to do is get the ball or beat their man and once in while in the 'hustle and bustle' players and umpires might collide and that it was wrong that a player should be fined or suspended for something that is essentially an accident. Didn't mention Rivers' fine.

Was asked about the Cats and in particular Ablett Jnr and how the club would go about stopping him. Said what makes him so damaging is not only the number of disposals he collects but also his ability to go forward and kick goals. Said Bartram would mostly likely be given the task and tagging him. Said Clint's dad's funeral was today and that his 'mantra' was 'go hard or go home' and that is how Clint goes about his football.

Was asked about umpires being critiqued in the media by club officials, such as Kennett. Said he felt umpires should be protected so kids would be interested in becoming umpires.

Was asked about Michael O'Laughlin's return for the Swans. Said it was great for him to be back and that the Swans need another forward target.

Was asked about Dick Pratt's death and how much of a motivation it will be for the Blues in the remainder of the season. Said it was a similar situation following Troy Broadbridge's death. Said it was a year long motivating force but that it was hard to think about week in week out.

That is all.

Thanks for that Ghost

.....

That is all.

Well done Ghost. Well summarised. I watched it, he seems pretty positive about this week, without giving too much away.

I am without foxtel so that was great. Thanks Ghost, well summarised and well written. Can't wait to see Robbo back on the G for us.

Thanks Ghost! I dont have Foxtel either so it was great to read such a detailed report.

Thanks for that Ghost. Lets hope Robbo can have a positive first game back and kick at least 3 goals. Set his season up to hopefully kick about 50!

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
