Cale Morton

Featured Replies

If you see him playing for W.A his kicking was just about outstanding hopefully it will come to that throughout and beyond this year.

You don't think Cale Morton takes risks by trying to be creative with his kicking?

Oh dear.

trying to be creative? are u joking? He sh!ts his pants everytime he has it. He just tries to get rid of it as soon as possible.

The clip of him running away from Lade really sums him up. He may of got the ball later on in that passage of play but do you think James Mcdonald, Mclean, Jones, Miller, , Frawley, Rivers, Sylvia, Dunn, Petterd, Martin qould have run away? Unlikely.

He does nothing of the sort. If anything, Morton spends more time trying to find an option than most players on our team.

I've posted before that I'd rather Morton continue to try to find options and create with his kicking - a la Travis Johnstone - than revert to robotic decision-making.

See Nathan Jones for an example of getting rid of it as soon as he gets a kick in the centre - although he's much improved this season.

I'm all for having a debate about the merits of a player and his actions, but both sides have to be grounded in fact. You're struggling on this occasion, Freak.

On behalf of demonland i would just like to say STFU freak, your posts are highly embarassing. At least YM is funny.

i'm sorry but palmer is definitely a better kick of the footy. He takes risks whereas Morton doesn't. thats the only difference. Making mistakes taking risks is a lot better than making mistakes not taking risks. As flattering as Mortons ability to find the ball is, it's equally as disheartening the way he uses the footy. They cancel each other out.

Palmer a better kick than Morton. ROFL ROFL ROFL

You're an idiot.

I think you only saw the very selective clip that was shown by Fox and The Footy Show; the extended clip shows Morton not running away from Lade but running to meet the next passage of play.

And Morton doesn't sh!t his pants, he looks very comfortable with the ball.

Stick to your original argument - that Palmer is a more accurate kick.

That may be true but Morton has vision, a HUGE tank, a raking (if inconsistent) kick, and a few inches on Palmer.

They are neck and neck right now (major injuries aside) but the club didn't draft him to be the best player in his second year, he drafted him to be the best player in his 5th year. And being a wingman at 193cm - he looks like he could be a very special player.

FFS freak, the kids 19 years old body barely finished developing the factthat his able to win a fair amount of ball as it is is good progress.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
