Changes v Adelaide

My god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why drop players? specifically young players.... when they get their first big win.

It's about building team confidence, we don't have stars, they all worked as a team and we got a result, so why in the world would we drop these players? It will kill their confidence, especially players like Jetta, Bennell and Bartram.

FOOLISH!!

Only change....

Out: Green

In: Macca (if fit), Maric (if Macca isn't fit)

Agree, and I reckon Bails and the selection committee will see it the same. The only changes should come if there is some glaring mis-match. We need to give the kids some game time this year to see who has it and who doesn't. We have to keep the perspective that this is a LONG term rebuild and cut and pasting each week won't help us. I'm pretty proud that my boys are standing firm even though they are inexperienced and have a long injury/not ready list. In 12 -24 months we will have a lot more talent on the field and a lot of second string players that have good experience at the top level.

I agree with your line up Yze_Magic.

I think Maric needs to be given a chance.

Although hopefully Robertson will be back in the next week or two as well.

No need to rush Robbo back.

Haha, scapegoat for what? a win?

I think hes going to be a good little player, and he definately has attributes to develop further (specially when he turned a sydney player inside out on the wing @ visy park during the NAB challenge match).

Agree with him not being on his Pat Malone but its not based on the one game. Sometimes going back to the reserves for a couple of games can be more effective than staying in the senior side.

Plus Maric deserves a call up and not sure if we can fit in both of them at the moment...

.

What I was implying was that Bruce could kick 10 goals, have 35 possessions, 6 tackles and have a qucikie with Jennifer Hawkins in the centre square at halftime and YM would say he was just lucky that day and his teammates helped him out.

Jetta will be removed from the team when DB thinks it is warranted, yes I agree that from what we have read that Maric deserves a go, but not at the expense of a guy who is giving it a go every week and improving every week.......it will even make Robbo work that little bit harder knowing that he has to fight for a place this time.

As for the emergency situation I think that DB will never accept any player going into a game less than 100% on the day, and we will continually see an emergency who does not play that weekend, think it was Cheney this week to give him a rest, keep him involved in matchday, (and he probably sat in the box), show him it wasn't his form..........learning and develpment anybody?

As a number of others have said in Maric out Green. Only changes.

Newts contested, chased and harrassed most of the day his kicking really needs to improve. Bater had a little bit of a downer but he is working as hard as most, he was ignored numerous times whilst on his own in the fwd 50. Pettard needs to stay on the ground more often for mine and not fly into contests when we have Miller, Newts and Bater also looking to fly into marking contests.

McDonald and to a lesser extent Dunn don't have the leg speed to stay with a jet.

who are adelaide's jets? i don't rate any player they have that is still quick as warranting a tag. hope to see dunn on half forward around macloed so when he runs off dunn can get a few easy ones.

bartram, green, jetta out.

mcdonald, grimes, maric in.

i know its harsh to jetta(and could affect both bennell and davey), but the replacements are absolute guns.

maric can do what jetta has been and more; grimes has the skills to release davey to brighter things.

I put in one of my posts that we have read that Mariic deserves his chance, it is exactly that, yes he has been playing weel at Casey but that is the VFL, he nad an interrupted pre season and no practice games against AFL sides, the few games we saw him in last season he was exactly like Jetta, a bit undersized but gave it a crack..........he may get in this week, but after reading Peter German's report still think he is couple of more weeks away, there seems to be a couple of things they want him to work on, interesting that he wasn;'t the emergency last week, wanted to get more game time into him at Casey.

Only change will be replacement for Green which I think will be JMac

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
