The Cousins Saga

Featured Replies

Plus....they've picked up a champ.

I hope we didn't have closed minds, and gave the drafting of Cousins a good think. In know a lot of posters to this thread discounted the possibility of recruiting Cousins with hardly any consideration of the pros and cons.

They have picked up a former champion, who faces an uphill battle to get fit at the age of 31 after a year off, and only a handful of games in 2 years. Cousins is well and truly behind the eight ball compared to his new teammates.

Will be 32 next year, and comes to Richmond with a truck load of baggage and badly needed & costly resources and exposure to outside influences and pressure by the media, just waiting for Ben to spit on the side walk, have you weighed up the cons JJC?

IMO, Gary March and Terry Wallace have made their own bed at Tigerland.

Melbourne made the correct decision, on the back of their current predicament, and the path the Mfc has taken.

cant wait till we play the tiges next year.

look out, cousins has white line fever!!

i want to see robbie fowler style goal celebrations.

"Will be 32 next year"

What's the difference between the Richmond Football Club and a Tasmanian?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
