Miller axing - a disgrace!

Featured Replies

Richmond president Gary March refused to confirm or deny on Saturday night that the Tigers' powerful director of football Greg Miller had been axed - Speculation mounts over Miller axing

Let's hope this story isn't true for Richmond's sake because every football writer and commentator will be all over the Tigers and their handling of this icon of the football world who has worked so hard for so long to get them where they are now. There will be talkbacks and articles everywhere about how the handling of this dismissal shows that the club is a laughing stock and how they shamefully hurt the man's feelings and treated him shabbily.

How dare they carry out an ongoing review of the club's operations and try to dismiss an employee who might not be in line with the club's expectations and aspirations for the future!

THe contrast in the reporting will be typical. The more I read, the more I cannot stand the media.

ICON must mean the tendency to deceive and manipulate others for personal gain.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
