Sorry to harp on about this...but I think it is time action must be taken.

Yet again Foxtel and Seven are showing Syd v Ric at the same time this Sunday.

Good Side = Dees will annihilate the Saints

Bad Side = We have to wait until the 7:30pm or 12:00am replay to see it.

'Promoting the game' hahahaha haha more like promoting a team!

I am absolutely sick of this!!!

This is the email address to foxsports however i know from previous attempts that it is useless.

[email protected]

I think the next couple of games for us are at 2.00pm on a Sunday which means that it will not be telecast live!!

Guess I will have to stay away from tv and radios all day until 7.30pm for a while.

I think you'd have to talk to the AFL, or channel 7. Because fox have to show 2 sunday games live don't they? to keep 4 a round. Maybe try to get a hold of a media relations person from the AFL?

Sunday AFL Coverage in ACT, NSW and QLD

Dear Sir/ Madam,

For a third week this year both Foxtel and Channel Seven are showing the same game, at the same time, on the same day into the ACT, NSW and QLD.

This Sunday's game between Sydney and Richmond will be shown live on Foxtel and Seven into ACT, NSW and the QLD leaving no live coverage of the 2pm game.

I can understand the need to expose the Sydney and Brisbane based teams into their respective areas. However I see no reason why at least one of the two channels can show the alternative game. After all I thought the idea was to promote the 'Game' rather than select teams. I have also noted the games shown have been blow outs, while the other, 2.10 games have been close contests.

Seven really needs to have a look at this seriously as this does not occur for any other sport in Australia. I have also noticed that Seven sometimes shows alternate AFL shows into the ACT, NSW and QLD on Seven HD (Sunday's at 10:30am). At the very least I would have thought the 2.10 game could be broadcast on Seven HD as you are already covering the game for Victorian viewers.

This is not a one off situation and I am not sure it has been picked up by Seven, the AFL or Foxtel.

Many other ACT, NSW and QLD based AFL fans would like to see some action taken on this. If need be a petition will be distributed and delivered to you.

Regards,

Are you sure it's not on main event (for NSW/QLD/ACT only) this Sunday?? - though it didn't happen yesterday, often when Swans are on Fox Sports and 7 or 10 the other game goes onto Main event.

Nah Kryton, only for Friday night games have I noticed they use the Main Event channel. I cant believe this is happening again. This is 3 out of the last 4 games, unbelievable!!!!!!!

Yep, I headed to the local club in sunday just to be told that the Demons game couldn't be shown up here. Just the one game showing, the other was cricket of some kind, with one guy snoring gently in front of it.

It would seem pretty basic maths - two simultaneous channels (seven/ten plus foxtel), two games live.

The previous day I'd headed down on a whim to catch Carlton v Freo and Port v Sydney.

Couldn't catch either for 45 minutes - replay of the Friday night Collingwood game was the only thing on offer.

The live football had to wait for the filth to finish up.

im going to complain about how many ads they played on sunday.. and why not all interstate games are live.

Keep up the good fight Timmy. Could I suggest advertising your campaign on a St Kilda forum or two? I'm sure there's plenty of Saints fans who are feeling as frustrated as us.

Guys your wasting your time...

It would be valid to do all these things if the afl cared..but they dont

Its about the almighty dollar and who will pay what for advertising.. nothing to do with the acrtual game.. if they think they will get more sponser money, advertising money from a different game then they will go with that.. until melbourne lifts itself from the bottom of the ladder things wont change..

remember when we made the finals.. tv coverage was sweet the whole of the next year.. and our draw was pretty good too..

its all about supporters going and advertising.. sad but true..

You dont want to know how much they try and charge for queens birthday game advertising...Crazy almost as bad a a full page in the herald sun for a month

Have you written to the AFL?

I have written twice to the AFL (the second letter was addressed personally to Demetriou). Didn't even do me the courtesy of acknowledging my correspondence, let alone responding to the concerns I raised about promoting the AFL in the traditionally non-AFL regions.

I live in Canberra and last year we had the even more ridiculous situation of both free to air TV and Foxtel broadcasting the Melbourne v Swans game that was played at Manuka Oval!

Not confident that it will do any good, but I'd hapilly pin my name to a petition. I'm sure members of the Canberra Demons would do likewise.
