Strange Feeling ...

Featured Replies

Of course we can bloody win it weren't you guys watching yesterday

If the machine can stay in that gear and the boys can keep their confidence up they can give anyone a shake

You don't kick 9 goals to 2 in a quarter if you're rubbish

not being pessimistic but rarely do you lose consecutively by 100 points, or lose 6 in a row if your any good...

unless your talking about melbourne.........

we had plenty of 6-7 game losing streaks and still made the finals. it is a nasty habit we have.

Guys i got a strange feeling that we might upset the crows at AAMI stadium.

Does anyone besides me feel this feeling?

I do.

Just a little, but I do.

Hmm.... reasons for feeling positive.

PJ listed to play for Sandy this week.

Ditto Whelan.

Cale Morton to get a week to rest his bones.

Bailey will understand AAMI and have a better than average familiarity with the Crows, too.

And who knows what a two-week break to think about the fact that we really can win games will do to our playing group. They might just be ready to go hard.

And unrelated but still positive - people are signing up as members. The club said "sign up, you're needed" and people are bloody well signing up.

Demons fans are legends. We sign up even when it's hell.

Edit: Here's something else that is interesting. Adelaide wins this season have been -

West Coast. (before anyone realised just how much they suck)

Port Adelaide. (at the time, they sucked)

Fremantle. (ahem)

Carlton. (whatever)

North Melbourne. (who really seemed inept last week)

I'm getting the feeling a little more, now.

Earlier on the week, Dean bailey says If the other teams aren’t training and we are, then that’s our chance to sneak up on them.

He played for Sandringham yesterday (Sun 11th).

Distance Demon...have you come up with the 2009 MFC bumper sticker?

FIRE IN THE HEART

A true Demon signs up even when its Hell

Not a chance in hell.

That sounds about right  !!!

There is always a chance.

I just hope that if we do get beaten then it doesn't shatter what confidence we have ATM.

We play like we did in the second half on Sunday we'll win the next 18 & the flag.
9 2001 2 Melbourne 12.11 (83) vs Adelaide 11.14 (80) AAMI WON 3

I was there that night. Fantastic game!!

If we start off well we will get beaten by 10 goals and I would take that anything under that margin will be a miracle and they usually don't happen 2 games in a row. If we don't start off well it will be another 100 point hiding.

bailey also said he was studing their defence and thought he could break it down.. to be honest the crows were never a powerhouse at kicking goals just a damn mean defence .. i think we break even in the middle, their forwards and our backs should be about even too, so long as rivers is in charge, as for our forwards aussie is a gun by the looks of things at reading the ball off a pack.. miller is good at making packs fall over..so play him deepthen its up to ourr boys to run run and keep running..so the main difference will be the crowd and their supporters.. everyone heard the speil about how our supporters really lifted the guys in the last quarter..lets just hope we jump them early then its like a ghost town there lol..

Go Dees- 4 point winners

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.

  • AFLW REPORT: Western Bulldogs

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
