4th May, 2008 - What A great Day for Demon Fans

What A Day!

Once again, I take the family to the MCG. This time to see the Mighty Demons take on Freo - to chalk up our first win (I hope).

By half time I'm thinking, "the only thing that is stopping me from going home is the kids want to have a kick on the MCG at the end of the game!"

What a turn around- pride, passion, running, accuracy, team work, endeavour, heart - you name it, the players had it.

In all my years of going to Melbourne games I have never heard such passion and support from a crowd. Though the top of the stands were empty, those of us who went made enough noise to compensate. Give yourselves a pat on the back Demon Fans!

We finally saw what we have been told was possible.

Finally some bragging rights - and with the bye, that's 2 weeks worth! LOL

Go Dee's

I was very, very, VERY close to leaving at half-time. I thought I'd stay till at least half-way through the third. Lucky I did. I feel guilty for even considering leaving now.

Don't they played some terrible footy in the first half. There could have been 22 different players playing in the 2nd

  • PREVIEW: Brisbnae

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.

The Demons return to Melbourne and the hallowed turf of the MCG where they face dual reigning Premiers Brisbane on Sunday. Who comes in and who goes out?

Melbourne’s much vaunted finishing power evaporated at Adelaide Oval on Saturday afternoon, exposed for the third time in four years by its Essendon Gather Round hoodoo.
