Anyone for cricket?
where I come from after the second test when everybody was screaming at watto and the skip in media interview said "we got DRS wrong" so at lords chairman of the ACB chairman of selectors coach captain and not one of them shuts the door and has a quiet word about us not being a good team atm , but lets at least get something right.DRS nope 3rd,4th test just a shambles on DRS again severe lack of leadership atm. this includes all of the above great to see smith, harris, siddle, have good series, not great but good

Anyone for cricket?
ian chapel wrote about field settings not leadership and I was answering macca originally read your post on a.davey before making comments about my OPINION all ive said is WE have the talent , but its not being cohersed to to a team inviroment as yet as I said SHOULD SOMEBODY WRITE DOWN THE PROBLEMS AND GIVE THEM TO PLAYERS MOTHERS TO SORT OUT AT THE END OF TOUR?????????? OR SHOULD WE APPOINT PERSONAL WITHIN THE TEAM AND OFFICIALS TO DO IT ????????? good morning RRRRRRRRRRRRRR and good morning tall d and macca and listen rr. g ablett senior maybe he would make a good coach mmmm would you listen to him.doubt it nancy

well simple really who has got the job of telling Watson and others about DRS use do we write it down in a book and give it to wattos mother at the end of tour? Davey warner, surely somebody mmmmm probably his father was called to England to give him a foot up the clacka, or is there SOMEBODY within the squad that takes him out the back and has a word with him now mr RR don't know where you sit in the team sports area, my experience is limited to 25 years footy and about 18 years cricket. now you don't have to be the best , but team leaders don't put up with rubbish and pull dropkicks into line, we have a couple of those and also a capable group of players which have proven they can do well its just a matter of getting their heads together and playing for the TEAM ,this seems to be the biggest obstacle atm, people are saying good things about the players every 4th test.no consistency from the team so they have the talent.its gotta be there so that only leaves one area that's not working. off the ground. and that points to one problem

mot sure how much of a rebuild im worried about some inconsistsies, lyons plays 20 tests and isn't much of a spinner but is a leader within the team and when the going is tuff he grits his teeth and gets on with the job the selection problem we have is after warne they tried 10 spinners in 14 tests and fell in love with left arm around the wicket off spinning trundlers, why I don't know NOW they go to an ashes and drop lyon our no1 man for a 19 yo untried secondly they about to infuse a 380yo expaki leg spinner. this is called panic, and every time something goes wrong its either shoot lyon or bring lyon back from the dead, this means the selectors and captain atm have no gutz to make hard decisions and stick by them for the rebuild, its a merry go round so whats needed is leadership, and that starts from the top the national selector should probably always travel with the team and have simple and easy plan set out for the players, the captain yesterday made a statement about nobody else is good enough . they haven't made runs at shield level. this is a bad statement. he should of said our shot selection isn't good enough most of the batsmen are ok, unfortunately the tail has been wagging the dog Watson.warner .smith and kulwaja hughes have got away with unprofessional rubbish for over 2 years the coach has a job to sort that out, not the captain.and the captain shouldn't be whingeing about what the other players at shield level are doing.he didn't and wouldn't bite the bullet for the last 2 years and page 95 of the Saturday hun was just the best message any capt/coach/selector could of learned A TEAM MEETING BEFORE THE LAST TEST AND SIMPLE MESSAGE THE COACH WILL WORK YOU THROUGH YOUR PROBLEMS IN THE NETS FOR THE NEXT 10 TESTS AFTER THAT YOUR ON YOUR OWN NO EXCUSES plenty more to say but struggling to put thoughts into words if you've played team sport for a long time, good leaders are more expressive off the field a sign of good leadership is how things are handled on the field sometimes behind closed doors, ripping off the bandaid and everbody being given a direction sorts it all out and we all go forward with a clear mind and intentions

said before start of series haddin backstop thinhk your right about sids, harris nearly cooked is watto kalwaja, just wants to go home, maybe best if a leader tells him to suck it up and play 5th test hope rogers is explaining to hughes /kawalja the art of patience and grit and yes like macca you write better than most btw rr that article of chappelis speaks of field placement captaincy. not leadership

the MISUSE is when players have utilised all the teams drs and later batsmen cant use them.so sorry to carry on and not articulate that properly, that's the misuse, take that option away, problem solved you miss understood the warner meaning I would say besides kwajlaja and most of the low catch calls there hasn't been many 3rd ump mistakes that come to mind and those low catch wont be solved

most decisions definable catch bowled run outs back to the howlers, let the 3 umpires make a decision just because players have misused the DRS ,that doesn't excuse the authorities for letting howlers go through originally I think it was brought in with the idea that howlers would be gone and to incorporate this they needed an agreement with all parties , this bought the players association into the act and has now obvoisly ruined the system . no arguments lifes to short. read page 95 saturdays hun mate trying to be nice look at a video of warners appeal and drs last test, mc couldn't look himin the eye and say out and this article p95 hun clearly shows me what I would expect and want

foolish. it was designed to get rid of the HOWLER example stuart broad, for starters big boy as I said take it out of the players hands and they wont misuse them harris and lyon LBW missed by umpire would allow 3rd to rectify end of story if you use DRS like other sports its all or nothing, don't let lunatics take over the asylum

must have miss written I meant the amount of time used at the moment, may as well let the 3rd check all of them get the poms stopping their mid over conversations and the game will be able to move on check every out or ditch the system of DRS. it clearly was designed for the right things but as usual is being used smarlty by players and not getting rid of the howlers and yes ive always felt that when a human gets used to watching replays and then has to do without them, it may become a muddle after relying on technology and then relaxing the thought process to deal without it must be hard

can we put Watson on the ltil and bring in magner/couch its the first time ive enjoyed watsons batting ,because he was in strife and fighting for every run yes macca the drs has many knockers and different cricket boards have their own opinions about it seems the umpires have lost the ability too make decisions without video help, which is a modern day young persons thing.if they cant see a replay they struggle to explain what happened in front of their eyes.probably because its normal to see everything on playback in the modern era producing good umpire officials doesn't come easy when everything is replayed adneuseum I personally think the DRS should be not available to players, only to officials as it wouldn't hold up the game to check the bad decisions, it adds up to the time they spend checking it atm. btw, how much time do the poms waste by having meetings before during every over. this is a ploy against inexperienced batsmen and SOMEBODY should approach the umpires mid innings and ask them to get the precedings on the move

true. was a memorable century this pitch looks tailor made for the unorthodox slog batsmen. so prior , haddin and hopefully siddle sids hasn't made much with the bat so could be due for a edgey 35 Australia 4/99 and camera pans the crown to find a demon jumper, lucky bugger. probably doesn't know the gc score and doesn't care interesting page 95 herald sun yesterday. im still deciphering it, to make sure I understand the articles content properly
