  1. 2 things the AFL have made plain: - Compensation picks will be lower than a player's perceived worth. Clubs have known this all along - Compensation picks reflect the net loss to club (not individual player loss). Eg. Saints lose Goddard but gain Monfries (for the sake of argument). Their compensation would be lessened because Monfries is added to the team giving them something like a 2nd round pick (that's a guess)
  2. Just putting it out there.... Does that mean MFC aren't into - Ben Jacobs, K Stevens, Caddy, Toy or Giles? What's the view/word/vibe on the Viney situation? Pick 3 or 26ish?
  3. Love your work Dazzle - keep em coming. Have seen Adam Carter in the 20+ range in some mock drafts
  4. If where using like for like, they can have Strauss. Do they still need a ruckman?
  5. Melbourne secure 2012 Norm Smith Medalist Josh Kennedy. Kennedy, keen to return to Victoria, agreed to a heavily front-loaded 4 year deal believed to be worth $1m in 2013.
  6. We all read ludicrous rumours about who we are targeting in the press. For me, Byrnes, is possibly the only one that might ring true. I used to slag him off no end - Geelong made him look good and he would be rubbish in any other side. That changed as he later became a valuable player for 2 or 3 years until pushed out by Stokes, Motlop and Christensen. Now, I could see him as a cheap short term prospect for our non-existant small forward line. I would just expect a demonstration of training and work ethic to our lot plus a smidgeon of winning edge. I'm not fussed either way but I could see him at the Dees ahead of pack skirters like Pearce, for example - it just doesn't fit the Neeld mould.
  7. I couldn't see much other than potential with Dangerfield in his first 2 years. He's really only turned it on (x 10) this year. My view is - if we want Caddy and we're in the best position to take him - we should. The only reason I wouldn't take him is, if the MFC cant see him as part of the grand plan and Caddy's (possibly unfounded) reputation as a tool. His demands as a second year player would lend weight to the tool theory.
  8. IMO in was just as much if not more a cattle issue - regular mids at the time were Junior and Godfrey
  9. Heard similar and those dreaded two words - 'confidence player' We already have too many of those
  10. That was bothering me too. The Dogs have shown interest in Martin and could get MD pick 1 by throwing in a player or another pick. If they got MD1, why the hell wouldn't they pick Hogan with a forward line like there's?
  11. Wellingham's just OK, I would not part with pick 13 for him Gawd
  12. Would this work better: We've golden soil and wealth for toil Each yard has a barbie
  13. Clearly you haven't heard Canada's. I think everyone switches off after the first two words.
  14. I saw him play for the seniors earlier in the season and thought he still looked talented but a bit skinny (in his 4th or 5th year at Geelong) - not unlike our undersized NQR KPF first round draft picks. Any comparison? I like the look of Murdoch too.
  15. Tie me kangaroo down sport - now there's an anthem
  16. Worthy tipping points? a) another year like this one B) another 186 c) Jack Viney running around for GC d) Another debt crisis e) seeing Schwab in the coaches box I'm 46 and could never entertain supporting another club, but sheesh, would struggle with any of those. Onward and upward Edit: It's supposed to be a b above
  17. I don't think we can afford the wait, hence the pick/player combo. At the very least we should have the last bid, given our lower picks Edit - assuming GC don't partake
  18. Is there scope for ND Pick 3 + Player for MD Picks 1 & 2?
