Dawes has a massive presence on the ground (he seems to be our main leader already) When we one a centre bounce early and kicked it into the 50 he applauded the mids and then everyone else did. He just has a presence about him that we need (him and Clark would be awsome!)

Their fan base will only grow (while ours shrinks) I don't think many high draft picks would just walk out on their club for nothing - sounds like something that would happen to us though

Is this possible?I assume the PSD draft order is the same as Nab AFL draft order. If this is possible we could offer him money that GC couldn't and pick him up with pick 1-3 of PSD. But he would probably be hated for it by GC fans if he left for nothing. In any case get it done Melboune - he is the perfect age bracket and has proven potential

It pains me to say that I really don't care about the result of this game. Even if we were to pull of the impossible and get a win it would not fix anything - we would still lose next weeks game and the week after etc etc. I just don't know what to look forward to anymore - it can't be game day, not the draft (sick of waiting for development), free agency?, end of the year?, new coach? What do we have to look forward to now? Feels like we are chasing rainbows only theres no gold at the end.

That's hard to do when your an 18 year old who weighs less than 70kg's. Although he looks as if he has already added a bit of weighit so lets hope he doesn't have morton syndrome! - one positive today was that I saw him get a contested possession so I guess he is already ahead of morton.

Need to give the club/players a fresh start - a clean slate! Outs: all staff/coaches with a question mark over their heads (possibly make Neeld assitant coach)..... and any players who do not have the potential to be part of a successful club (Nicholson, Sellar, Pederson, Rodan etc.) Ins: Brett Ratten and other qualified/proven people..... and young draftees (potential) - let's just bloody develope them right this time! ... and at least one leader (midfielder - trade) Neeld is a proven assistant coach so that could save him but if he needs to go in order for the club to have a psychological fresh start - so be it!

I am genuinly more excited about this match than the Richmond one! (no joke) I hope Toumpas is playing VFL this week (not ready for AFL) and looking forward to watching Hogan, Taggert, Blease, Kent, Barry and Fitzpatrick. A Saturday game yay!

Correct me if I am wrong (seriously) but I don't remember Richmond having a '186' or even '148', a legitimate tanking investigation, an ASADA investigation, no culture, no star players, massive financial shadow.... etc etc etc.... You get the picture and were they ever in the bottom 4 for 4 or more consectutive years with no signs of improvement?

Whats up with this womens draft? For a second there I thought we had drafted a female. So this is like a special female AFL with two teams? Bit disappointed really I thought I could actually have something to look at when I go to the footy.

I would hate to stand up for any of our players but Sellar was one of the best last week. I only watched the first half but he one every contest and did some really smart things. As I said though I only watched the first half as the rescue boats took forever! (after I jumped of the bridge).

Love these twilight games .............. wasting the last few precious hours of the weekend! Wish I could just turn away but I can't for it would mean I have wasted half my life trolling this site - Damn you Melbourne!

I said before the GWS game that there was nothing in that game for us - everyone was saying how it was such a big game but what did that win get us? I can't see any confidence or improvement coming from that. I hated saying it then and I hate being the one to say it now but what if the best result long term for this club was a loss in round 4. If we hadn't won that game I believe Neeld would either have already been sacked by now or be under serious evaluation (after GC loss). Does anyone now believe that changes are going to be made before the seasons end? I think if we were 0 and 7 and going on to play Richmond, Fremante, Hawthorn, Collingwood, St Kilda etc. - some action would have been taken. That GWS game only served to give Neeld, the department and the players a little bit more breathing room and could now be the difference between drastic changes being made at the MFC. I can't see us having any chance of winning a game until round 19 against GWS. Neeld attempted a clean out of the MFC but he didn't do enough - Surely if we where 0 and 10 for the second time in 2 years action would need to be taken. The question is will one win against GWS effect our ability to clean out the MFC? Should we wait to the end of the season to make drastic changes? We need to get it right this time - clear every little piece of cancer at the club and appoint proven and the best people for the job. What do people think about winning another couple more cheap games this year (GWS and GC - round 19 and 20) would this be the best result for the club long term or will it only give Neeld and this cancerous team more time? What would we take from those wins? I am not refering to tanking by the way! - just thinking long term (if there is one)

Thanks for that. I saw him at a training session before round one and he was very very skinny but that can be improved (if he doesn't hang around with Watts). He was kicking to a coach about 25-30m away and they were accurate but his kicking action makes Tom McDonal look like a ballerina. Will be intresting to keep an eye on his progress - if he can get his skills to an AFL level then he needs to concentrate on decision making under pressure and his aggression. Even if he can master all that then what kind of player would he be? Anyone know his height? I think its a stab in the dark but worth the shot. You would think that we could find someone more developed from Ireland or America.

Have to keep a couple eggs in the basket for a rainy day (like last week) I think no matter the result Neeld was always going to talk about how inexperienced we were compared tp Carlton - the additions of Kent, Strauss etc. seemed to be something for Neeld to lean on in the case of a flogging

Colin Garland seems to be popular - I seem to remember there was a thread dedicated to how useless Garland was and saying he was not AFL standard (only like 4 weeks ago).

Would love to see Fitzy in the side but not sure if he is ready yet. I think this thread will be shredding him before he even touches the ball. I remember when he played against Port and he missed the ball with his foot (don't think he was under a lot of pressure) - Nicholson and Bail must have given him a few kicking tips. Love his speed and agility but not sure what his ability to apply defensive pressure is like - anyone know?
